And yet there are powerful Americans who want to gut the safety laws and
regulations that help prevent this kind of thing from happening in our
country.So, in order to provide profits for Walmart, and other
corporations that have sent American jobs overseas, we support unsafe sweatshops
in other nations.But, I guess there are at least a few blessings
here. These people who died at least had what could be called a "job."
Or was it a form of slavery with the purpose of providing profits for others?It frightens me that this kind of thing is part of the Republican vision

This tragedy is a repeat of what happened in NYC"s Greenwich village in
1912. There is a documentary on PBS about it called the "Great Triangle
Shirt factory Fire". Anyone who advocated for better working conditions,
even unionization were called socialists, progressives, liberals, communists,
leftists, etc. 136 workers died when a fire broke out on an upper floor. An
exit foor was locked and there was no key available.
