His "missquided" campain and statement were directly driven by the
republican party's platform. So you are really just saying that he lost
because the republican party doesn't represent enough of Americans.
The party of "Personal Responsibility" is looking every which way for a
Mitt Romney lost the election because 47% of Americans have figured out how to
game the system, contribute nothing or very little and whine for more! Of course
its political suicide to tell the truth in America, but if we can't even
accept the problem, there is no hope of fixing it! If you want to see some real
ill-advised comments, check in with Joe Biden!
Romney lost for a lot of reasons, but one of the biggest reasons was that he
never had a "Sister Souljah" moment with the more extreme elements of
the conservative base. While Donald Trump, was making the most ridiculous
Birther statements, Romney was showing up at Trump fund raising events!Romney's silence on some of the wackier conservative statements, and
conspiracy theories made it look like Mitt was afraid of the far right base, or
that he agreed with them.
Romney shot himself. Period.Lies don't cut it.
Republican Governor Bobby Jingal said it best yesterday and the day before when
he said -- Republicans need to stop being the party of stupid,Talk radio and their extreme rhetoric pushed Middle America away from the
GOP,andMitt Romney was dead WRONG when he tried to blame his loss
because Pres. Obama was out buying votes via free gifts and hand outs to
Hispanics, Gays, Women, and the Young [ala Rush Limbaugh's Obama is Santa
Claus garbage].As a Liberal - I like having Rush Limbaugh and his
ilk on the radio. They do republicans more damage than good. With the economy in shambles the way it is - this was Mitt Romney's
election to loose. And AM hate radio did a spectacular job loosing it for
When will repubs accept personal responsibility for their loss?Perhaps *gasp* Americans are smarter than you think?! I know I know, wild
concept, I know. But perhaps people other than your top 1 % also can think for
themselves. Maybe... Just... Maybe... There was something wrong with your
platform? Could it be your stance on taxes? Could it be your
stance on abortion?Could it be your stance on illegal immigration?Could it be your stance on defense spending?Could it be your stance on
Iran?Could it be your stance on marriage?Could it be, that
perhaps, just perhaps, people remember the last 2 repub Presidents and the
disasters they left us?Own it! Take responsibility! The only thing
I've seen out of the GOP since the election ended is looking at others to
take the fall. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY!
@ Real Maverick. Exactly right! That's what conservatives want the 47% of
Americans to do; TAKE RESPONSIBILITY for their own lives and stop gaming the
system for ever more entitlements!
Mountainboy, the truth is that the vast majority of Americans do take personal
responsibility and do work hard to support themselves. There is just a tiny
percentage who actually do what you ascribe to the 47%.The vast
majority of the 47% are either working very hard, are out of work and unable to
find a job at the moment, or are genuinely disabled in some way, or have retired
after long work and service to our nation.Your comments, like those
of Mitt, are simply disgusting. And that is one of the reasons he lost the
election. Trying to cast blame on your fellow Americans using a very wide brush
is not patriotic. In fact, it is people like you who are holding the country
back from achieving the greatness conservatives seem to always tell us we have
what you mean romney is not a victim, but he was so sure he represented that 47%
of Americans )that work and pay all other taxes) he claims are professional
victims. wrong again mitt your victim stance only represents the GOP.
Mountan: Math lesson here pal: If 47% of the Country are the ones sucking the
system dry of entitlements, why don't the 53% of Americans left vote them
down? As Slick Willie said during the convention: "It's just
arithmetic!" Another angle would be what if Mitt is wrong and there are
really 53% of the Country that demands entitlements and you are permanently out
voted being a member of the 47% righteous (in your mind)?
ladies and gentleman I present the new professional victim class, previously
known as the GOP.
Old guy. The reason Mitt Romney lost the election is because Obama promised
minorities more entitlements (Obamacare, amnesty for illegals and more food
stamps), paid for by people not even born yet! Any honest person can see that,
but being honest in America these days is political suicide!
Mitt Romney was a dead horse put against Obama by the bilderbergs to keep Obama
in office. He had no agenda of making this a real election. His job was to keep
Ron Paul out of it.
George. The real victims of this election are the tax payers, both living and
the unborn(those who are not aborted with free taxpayer funded abortions)!
@GeorgeIf the GOP is the new victim class and is hoarding in on
traditionally left wing passive/aggressive power sources - how will you ever be
able to maintain your "I am victim, hear me roar" power structure?Perhaps you can up the ante and simply play the victim of the
victim-of-the-victims?(Isn't the drama triangle a fun ride?)
Here's a message for all, if you want to stay in power then you had better
govern for the benefit of the middle class and the poor or it will be more of
the same. You can't divert the issue of too few quality jobs into war. You
can't divert the issues of unregulated capitalism and expect prosperity.
You can't continue to expect the 99% to continue to cover the costs of
globalization. If you do then soon, there will be no republicans or democrats.
It is by way of the masses that democracy and our free republic will survive.
Romney is his own worst enemy. The vote was based on the information
that the candidates provided, and we, as a Nation did not buy his
salesmanship. That might work in business, but not in the White
@ Mountainman"Of course its political suicide to tell the truth
in America, but if we can't even accept the problem, there is no hope of
fixing it!"Nobody can ever accuse Romney of telling the truth.
If he DID, he would be our President.
A go either way race until Sandy came ashore and everybody thinks it is about
this or that but not Sandy. Think again folks. Sandy made it possible to see the
President acting his domestic role acceptably and also made it possible for
Governor Christie to acceptably abandon Romney with his interaction with
President. Sandy response by both Obama and Christie, with its necessary
coordination, probably does most to explain the divergence between pre-Sandy
close race and post-Sandy not-so-close election. All other factors had plenty of
time to be accounted for. Romney was appropriately subdued in the aftermath and
was left without any reasonable action designed to increase his standing but
without demeaning Obama during that specific period; Obama's role was
needed for the good of the nation.
@Mountanman -- So, only minorities are benefited by Obamacare and food stamps?
Really? Do you even know any "minorities"? And you seriously do not
know ANY Caucasians who are on food stamps or who do not have insurance? I
doubt it. You know, if you actually ever got to know any of these dreaded
"minorities", you would probably find that they are as decent and
hardworking as you are.
The nation is moving on, evolving and growing up. The republican party is not.
Romney could not run far enough away from them.
Look up the ANONYMOUS letter claiming to have kept Rove from stealing the
election by blocking 3 data portals set up to crash the server and change voting
results in Iowa. Thom Hartman is a pretty smart guy and lays it all out with
plenty of facts on youtube. It explains how crazy Rove was in
disbelief about certain counties results.
Romney lost because he proved (1) that he couldn't be trusted to do
anything except what would benefit him and (2) it was impossible to believe a
word he said. Obama didn't win that election. Romney lost it by his own
actions and words.
