They play in the Chicago Elite tournament December 1st against # 11 in the
country a team from Chicago. To bad that They wouldnt play against
Jabari Parkers team who is also in the tournament. Hopefully they
just keep firing away and making buckets! This is good for Utah.
It's a shame that South Sevier isn't ranked, especially with their
recent success and three D1 prospects.
I realize JDBooks is a fictional character that has no credibility or validity
to anything he (or she) posts so I even hesitate to respond to such an assinine
comment but let's make one thing perfectly clear, all those affiliated with
the South Sevier community know that South Sevier cannot compete at a 4A or 5A
level with any consistency let alone be ranked nationally or even locally. South
Sevier does not have three DI athletes and they will be lucky to compete within
their own schedule this season. I urge all bloggers to please ignore JDBooks. He
(or she) does not speak for the real South Sevier community.
HA THERES JD BOOKs! THREE D 1???Race parsons going to
SUU is nothing! Woo look out for SUU athletics! Going to cedar City for
sports is like going to barry your own grave in a town where.... No one cares!
@ JD BooksSS does have some talent but lets get real, your best
player is going to go to SUU. That is great and I am sure that Race will have a
spectacular career their and be lucky enough to get his education paid for but
it is not even comparable to Lone Peak who already has 3 starters signed to BYU.
I think that Austin may have a chance to play ball at the collegiate level
somewhere but probably not D1 level. SS will most likely dominate 2A again this
year and on any given night could compete with bigger schools but not on a every
night basis. Please get a reality check before basketball season starts!
Give JD a break, SS has good players and they should be proud as heck to have
players moving to the next level. That's a big deal for a small town
school. He is just jubilant ! Just like all of you are that Obama got himself
Great news for the Cougs to get 3 players from the #6 HS team. Now if we could
just get 1 player from the #1 HS team. Collisworthworth home from his mission
next year. Isaac Nielson will join the team next year. Jordan Chatman coming
soon. The Cougs are a Top 25 BB program for many years to come.
I know it is reality that I can't expect the South Sevier community to
support the rams the way I do. What I was saying that any team that only loses
one game in two years and has D1 prospects should be considered for a ranking. I
am not sure why ram fans would choose to bash me instead of supporting. Believe
me, I know the SS community.
They will be considered for a ranking. They will be #1 in 2A when the first
rankings come out.
It is nice to see a Utah team getting national recognition. Lone Peak, love
them or not, you have to give praise to Coach Lewis for building an impressive
program. Some of Lone Peak's unheralded players like Toolson and Shumway
just add to their depth and it will be interesting to see if another team in 5A
can hang with them this season. The class of 2013 is loaded with talent.
Arguably, the most talent this state has ever produced. For example, Brandon
Miller (Brighton) and Parker Van Dyke (East) grew up playing on the same AAU
teams as Emery, Haws, and Mika. High School basketball fans have a lot to
look forward to this season. If a team can upset Lone Peak it would be a
"Hoosiers type" experience for the school that pulls that off
HA EVER produced? common crazy utah guy! Its funny you live in salt
lake but you only mentioned the two utah signees on that list as examples! ha ha
ha the year of 2005! Marquette, UNLV, BYU, Utah, Ohio State,
Idaho and USUto bad just none of them turned out! well emery and
darger both played all 4 years at byu and UNLV
South Sevier isn't ranked nationally because they have never played a
national schedule. No one outside of southern Utah knows who they are. LP has
played all over the country against top talent. When you get outside Utah, the
athleticism takes a huge leap often times. SS will be a great team in Utah, but
it's tough to say they could compete nationally, or even in a higher Utah
@ scrappy do,I normally would give someone a break, but for JD no
way! We have had to many comments from JD about hoisting gold trophies and how
South Sevier is the best in every sport. Being jubilant and supporting your
team is one thing but JD goes a little too far.
Bingham Alum,I didn't think it was necessary to list the best 2013
players by name. I said they have the potential to be the best this state has
ever produced. Shumway has D1 basketball talent no doubt and he will play
football. Ouia Massina (not sure of spelling) at Brighton High could play D1
basketball and he will play football. Race Parsons is a terrific player that
can not be discounted because he will go to S.U.U.. It remains to be seen if
these players will pan out as the best the state of Utah has produced but having
watched these kids play, I wouldn't bet against them.
Bingham Alum, You are right, 2005 was a huge class. I don't
know if any class will have the individual talent that they had across the
board. Green played all 4 yrs at the U and Newbold all 4 yrs at USU. Not to
mention Mahoney all 4 yrs at Weber St. Then tons of kids to Dixie and Snow. It
was a big class.
