It seemed last weeek Mitt was gaining electoral seats which are the electing
seats, not the popular vote. Then his Jeep to China ads ran and his electoral
votes dropped by 20 within 3 days. Now his electoral votes are coming
back but I think he shot himself in the foot.It also seems that
lawns don't need to be covered anymore with signs as the super pacs just
tell us who is winning with the big super bucks they have spent. It takes the
fun and atraction out of stumping for your favorite candidate.Polls
have also told us that the 1% (sorry Mitt not the 47%) in Ohio are going to
decide the election. By the time Utah's votes are counted it will be all
over.Sad to say Mitt had a chance to bring change but instead
campaigned on the same rhetoric as the existing administration and did not give
the population enough of a reason to change the ruling party at the white house.
I, too, have noticed the lack of "lawn" signs as well as the abundance
of SuperPac ads. Still, the shallow thinking of the majority of voters
manifests itself in the statement made that one ad can make such a difference in
the polls. To me, character and integrity are more important than advertising of
any sort. The selection of a President, Senator, Representative, should not
depend on the amount of money spent on ads or campaign speeches, Look at the
record! Their past actions will indicate future actions!
Commone Sense declares the winner. The fact that Mitt Romney ran a
campaign of flip-flops and half-truths, pandering to the
uber-far-right-wing as a "severely conservative" heading into the
nomination, and then Etch-a-Sketching and morphing in a Moderate-Centrist
who would work equally with both sides of the aisle, doomed his bid for
office.Nobody really knew were he stood on the issues, Therefore, nobody could trust him.Win or loose, Honesty is
ALWAYS the best policy. This should be a hard lesson for Republicans,
- and Utah Mormons - to take a good hard look at themselves, and stand firm on
your values and never compromise on them...come what may.
I have to say - looking at the polls at this point I am predicting an Obama win.
It sickens me but America has chosen socialism over capitalism. America will be
Greece in less that 4 years and people - especially those in the swing states
who all voted for Obama - will soon feel the nightmare of increased unemployment
starting with the layoff of the hundreds of thousands of Boeing employees in
December due to huge defense cuts. Virgina will soon find out what 10%
unemployment feels like and the rest of the country will follow. America
deserves what it gets - a lesser country and a lesser people who value hand outs
over work and industry. What a sad sad day for America but as the people go so
goes the country.
