I continue to hear all the talk about BYU having had the expectation that all they had to do was show up and win the WCC, first time. I read about it in the Gonzaga student paper, and the comment boards were full of other similar statements. The only problem is that no one associated with BYU, fan, player, coach or otherwise, every said word one putting the new conference down, but the opposite. If it was a motivator a David vs Goliath deal and it worked so be it, it's just not accurate. A team that couldn't hit a three to save itself, was gong to have problems with more physical teams who had kids that could shot, finishing third wasn't a shocker. No body expects to be recognized but without BYU, the WCC wouldn't have gotten the TV exposure of money they received.

    Say what?

The WCC already had exposure prior to BYU.
Gonzaga and St. Mary's basketball has been on ESPN, FOX and CBS over the past 5 plus years.

Wasn't there a kid named Demarcus something that was in the team last year? Whatever happened to him? I didn't see his name mentioned in the article. Did he quit the team, transfer out, or what? I must've missed an article about him earlier. Anyhow, that non-conference part of the Cougars schedule is quite a challenge. I'm curious as to how they'll handle it. Looking forward to watch them play though.

    Go Cougars!

    Thebigsmoan,

He went to Clemson because of some paperwork problem with his mission.

There's an article if you do a search on google or DN.

I certainly hope that Zylstra and the remainder have a great season. I am disappointed that Harrison decided to leave the program. I expected a lot of him this year. Best wishes for a great season to both the men's and women's basketball teams.
