How is this a story? Does anyone really believe she would say otherwise? Then again she's in limited company with that opinion.
Ryan cam across as a very thoughtful, intelligent, respectful young manBiden was simply histrionic: That may appeal to the far left; but it certainly
did nothing to attract the middle
Well then, clearly.....Being forcefull was cool last week but
totally not cool this week..... Yep.
To Happy Valley Heretic 8:09 a.m. Oct. 12, 2012How is this a story?
Does anyone really believe she would say otherwise? Then again
she's in limited company with that opinion.---------------------Ann's just a shill for the Romney/Ryan
ticket. Consequently the truth wouldn't matter to her.
@freedomingoodA person can be forceful and maintain some degree of
respect. Romney did not repeatedly throw up his hands, roll his eyes, refuse to
let Obama finish a sentence (Obama actually spoke longer than RomneyAnyone who thinks that moderates and independents viewed Romney s disagreement
with Obama in the same light as Biden v Ryan is only deluding themselves@Furry1993"Ann's just a shill for the Romney/Ryan ticket.
Consequently the truth wouldn't matter to her."And
obviously it matters little to the Obama campaign, who repeatedly lies about
lying, because they simply cannot run on their record = therefore they must
destroy Romney Ryan with what ever bizarre allegations they can grasp - and
there are always furry people out there who will buy it.I.e.
Claiming Obama lying about Libya is actually Romney's fault - can it get
any more pathetic?
Re: Furry1993 Ogden, UT"Ann's just a shill for the Romney/Ryan
ticket."I can understand a person disliking a candidate but why
the hatred towards his wife? While I don't agree with Obama's
politics I admire his wife. She is a decent woman, and so is Ann Romney.
If we were to look at STATESMANSHIP rather than thespian histrionics; the
obviuos statesman was Paul Ryan. Are we looking for statesmen or comedians to
lead our country?
Paul Ryan did a great job.Joe Biden should have asked his helpers to
clue him in on exactly what happened at the Benghazi embassy just so he
doesn't get things mixed up.The lamestream media can only cover
for him so much.
"I can understand a person disliking a candidate but why the hatred towards
his wife?"'hatred', Really? Hyperbole.She
jumped into the election to stump for her husband. She's fair game just
like any other campaigner. If she doesn't like the heat she should go back
to her horses.

week because Mitt did not look very statesman like when he kept interrupting and
mocking right?Fitness Freak said: Joe Biden should have asked his

just kept repeating the lies that somehow mitt was psychic and new ahead of
washington what had happend, he didn't know he just spouted off republican
rhetoric. If Obama is responsible for Benghazi embassy, than Reagan is
responsible for how many marines? and GW is responsible for how many on 911?
I love that Democrats kind of glaze over the attack in Libya and try to say as
little about it as possible. I don't know how you can be any more blatantly
obvious that the Obama administrations are a bunch of liars when it comes to
this! And anyone who says they aren't and continues to support them are
lying to themselves and supporting the fact that they got 4 Americans killed. It took 2 WEEKS for Obama to admit that it was a terrorist attack and
not sprung from protests about that stupid Youtube video!! 2 WEEKS!!! And all
Biden could say in their defense was, "We gave the information we were given
by our intelligence as it was being given to us." Really??? It takes 2 WEEKS
for our intelligence to get information to the president on a TERRORIST ATTACK?
That's scary!!! And does, as Ryan said, "Show an unraveling of the
Obama administrations foreign policies. It's either that or it
took Obama 2 weeks to figure out that a youtube video wasn't going to
satisfy the American people! Either way, it's pathetic and disqualifies him
for the presidency!!
Re: Bebyebe UUU, UT"If she doesn't like the heat she should go

than capable of taking any mud the liberals want to dish out. The question
revolves around the character and maturity of those slinging the mud. It makes
them look small.
To Rifleman 9:27 a.m. Oct. 12, 2012I can understand a person
disliking a candidate but why the hatred towards his wife? While I don't

contempt, not hatred. The problem comes from the fact that Ann acts
as a political surrogate for Mitt, and an extremely dishonest and dishonorable
one at that. She removed herself from the "political spouse" category
and put herself in the "political adviser/actor" category -- a
Republican version of Hillary Clinton. As such, she opens herself up for
investigation and comment on her activities (the same thing that Republicans did
to Secretary Clinton). Michelle Obama, on the other hand, ventures into the
political arena on very limited occasions and generally eschews it as much as
she can. She works to encourage improvement of diet and lessening of obesity,
and advocates for the benefit of military families, but she does it behind the
scenes as much as possible. That keeps her in the "political spouse"
category, and away from public investigation.AnnR put herself in the
public spotlight; MichelleO did not.
Re: Furry1993Hate and contempt are cousins, both canker the soul of
the person who harbors either of them, and neither are emotions to be proud of.
@Furry1993I have an honest question: why is it that women who
define themselves as feminists are the ones most likely to express outright
contempt for any women who does not tow the party line - while tolerating the
worst forms of misogyny from men and women who regurgitate the party line?Would you find it acceptable if a man talked about any "liberal"
woman the way you do about Ann Romney?
Re: Counter Intelligence Salt Lake City, UTThere was a time when I
harbored similar feelings about Hillary Clinton that one of the commenters above
expresses towards Ann Romney. The sad truth is that the only person who was
hurt by my feelings of hate and contempt was myself. They certainly didn't
hurt her.I appreciate your thoughtful observations on many of the
stories found on this web site. They are most refreshing.
Just a question - when fact checkers - actually all of them - state Ryan was/is
not telling the truth, does that matter to conservatives?
To Counter Intelligence 1:00 p.m. Oct. 12, 2012Would you find it
acceptable if a man talked about any "liberal" woman the way you do
about Ann Romney?----------------------------If the
woman in your hypothetical had distorted, and played fast-and-loose, with the
truth and the facts the way Ann Romney does I would not only find it acceptable
for a "liberal" woman to be criticized the way I criticize Ann Romney, I
would be making the criticisms myself. When I was in law school, we
learned something very early on -- in order to make any argument of any kind, we
first had to base the argument on TRUE facts. We could construe and stress and
avoid and explain the facts in a way necessary to support our arguments, but we
HAD to present the true, unabridged, unqualified facts first. Ann Romney
appears deliberately to avoid doing that.I don't fault her for
supporting her candidate; that's what a political adviser and advocate is
supposed to do. What I fault is her lying to do so. that makes her conduct
shilling instead of supporting her candidate. And it makes her a political
What do you expect? Ann Romney is Mitt Romney's wife and a faithful member
of the team. This is like a comment from many of the other defenders
of the faith: one expects it.Sure it's an opinion like any
other. What Ann Romney says is what Ann Romney says. It is of no less or no
greater import than what my Great Aunt Martha says. However, those who are
offended because she is considered a shill and a political hack forget the
nature of the game. She wants her guy to win and is a supportive member of the
team.Much is said about Michelle Obama when she shills and advocates
her position. The right-wing media have a big day assaulting her. Even when
she launches on a basic thing like improving children's diets, she gets hit
with the partisan rhetoric simply because she is Barack Obama's wife.So it's important to differentiate between the partisan and the
benign. If Michelle Obama praises Joe Biden's performance at the VP
debate, then let at it. Same for Ann Romney. Being a political surrogate means
you accept the consequences of your actions.
Counter IntelligenceSalt Lake City, UT8:39 a.m. Oct. 12,
2012Your comment is appreciated. I disagree with you completely. But my question is: Do you know where the "middle" is? With the
rightward shift of the conservative cause, it didn't pull the
"middle" with it. Instead, conservatives purged anyone who wasn't
conservative enough, considered conservative enough, or even suspected of not
being conservative enough. So where did these folk go? Why, they moved toward
the "middle" and are known as moderate conservatives, like George Romney
and Gerald Ford. Maybe even Ronald Reagan by today's conservative litmus
test! There's a great article in New York magazine by Jonathan
Chait discussing the disappearance of the "moderate conservative". He
writes about the extreme rightward shift of the conservative movement and the
problem this poses for conservative thinkers like David Frum, David Brooks,
Bruce Bartlett, and Michael Gerson. One could easily add Peggy Noonan to this
group. The Big Tent of Ronald Reagan has become the Pup Tent of
movement conservatives. They don't want anyone who is not ideologically
pure. So where does that put the "middle" in you geography?
