abigail,Thank you for continuing to push for Dr. Martin Luther
King's dream. If I recall he wanted people to be judged NOT by the color
of their skin.Unbelievable how some people now try to interpret that
as "Treat people by the color of their skin"Racism is wrong.
When we treat people based on the color of their skin, that is racism. Thanks Abigail. Dr. King would be proud!
hate in the name of tolerance is still hate racism in the name of
eliminating racism is still racism
What could possibly be wrong with hiring applicants based on the color of their
skin? People with white skin are rich and greedy and should be required to step
to the back of the line. There are actually people among us that
believe that way.
How would it feel to be told that you are given an extra boost by Affirmative
Action because without the boost you are not smart enough to compete with the
white kids?If Affirmative Action supporters are trying to say that
minorities are just as able as white males, then why do they support a system
that lowers standards for minorities?
I've always wondered just how long this special treatment stuff was
supposed to go on. I've heard of affirmative action since the 1970's.
Here we are well into the next century. Are we going to be discussing this
come 2112? Plus, how can any kind of government program that gives special
treatment to a particular race of people be considered constitutional? Equal
protection clause anyone? Hopefully the Supreme Court will begin to remedy this
very divisive program.
