Easy debate for Romney. Obama has nothing to hang his hat on. A
golfing/vacationing president who misses over half his staff meetings can't
debate on accomplishments.
Of course today's sharp drop in unemployment numbers, supposedly to less
than 8%, will be touted by the mainstream media to curtail any Romney debate
bounce, and bolster Obama's weak showing.
Well if you're going to blame post depression jobless numbers on Obama you
can at least be consistant when they improve. Romney is out there
with the intelectual equivelent of "I'm FOR puppies and kittens."
He has no means to achive his promises of a larger military, different healthcare
for everyone and a balanced budget.
Placement of two stories, and the framing of headlines reveals the true leaning
of Deseret News staffers and/or editors, they are, as I commented under the
other story, uber-liberal. They are no more conservative than James Carville. You see, the "Jobs Report GIVES Obama a much needed boost"
versus "Romney TRIES to seize post-debate momentum post-dabate", clearly
clues us in as to whom the editor placed these stories is cheering for.
Obama's story appears just above Romney's story. Obama RECEIVES (Job
Report GIVES him) a boost. But, Romney only TRIES to get post-debate momentum.
The Obama story headline indicates something definitive for Obama, and the
Romney story suggests only a unsure possibility as Romney only TRIES to get
post-debate momentum.Yes, generally speaking, the LDS Church, owner
of the Deseret News is overall a conservative entity. But no one need suppose
that this central print organ of it's media properties is genuinely
conservative.Story placement (Obama's over Romney's) also
indicates the DesNew's true underlying preference. Never confuse
suppositions with realities. The DesNews is not necessarily conservative because
the LDS Church owns it. It isn't.
Screwdriver," He has no means to achive his promises of a larger
military, different healthcare for everyone and a balanced budget."All you know is corrupt leadership, and can't understand what honestly
can be done.So many with low expectations with no vision of
Why did Mitt Romney bring notes, when the candidates are asked NOT to?He
was caught on camera deftly flipping them onto the dais.
Romney used notes, when candidates were asked NOT to bring any. Why?
Romney "trying" to seize momentum? I think he just DID seize momentum a
couple nights ago when he dressed down little Barack in front of 60 million.
Mike in Sandy: I didn't see Romney us any notes. He looked Obama in the
face while talked about his failing policies. I think he did a great job with
his part in the debate by providing facts and projecting a bright future for our
country. I believe him to be an honest man who can help improve the economy.
Four more years of Obama would be a disaster for everyone.
@Mike in SandyYou are part of a new class of conspiracy theorist.
Debate Noters are the new Birthers.
I see Romney is now up by 3 in Ohio, Florida and Virginia. Strange. I thought
the race was over.
We should be very satisfied that we have two newspapers in Salt Lake City and
Utah to choose from for everyday news. The Deseret News has a great history of
fair and journalistic values as they report the local, national and
international flavor for their audience. Thanks for their approach and
policies. With two newspapers that have their distinct audience with
some crossover of readers to ensure that those that read the Deseret News are
correct in what they read with comments and notes from readers to ensure the
Deseret News is doing what they believe, we are fortunate to have those watching
out for us.The Deseret News keeps their audience up to date and with
professionalism and journalists that provide us the views. Thanks.
Attn Mike in Sandy,What was Obama looking at all the time his shiny shoes?
Looked to me like both men had some scratch paper to make notes while debating.
Obama did not have his teleprompter and that was obvious, the guy didnt have any
answers. Romney is clearly more in tune with the ecomomy and business and that
is what we need right now.
