Dare I say, the only team in Utah going bowling this year is USU. This game will
be the Y's bowl game this year. It's called the Wagon Wheel Bowl Game.
There will be a parade in Logan on Saturday for the victory. Guaranteed!
The only reason that BYU lost those two games is Riley Nelson's
unwillingness to stand down when he was hurt. A health Riley Nelson or Taysom
Hill playing for the entire game would have made all the difference.Utah State is a class act. It should be a good game. Utah gave the Aggies all
they could handle and an ailing Riley Nelson did the same to the Utes. BYU plays
the Aggies in Logan and past performance does not predict future results;
nevertheless, I expect BYU to do well.It should be a good game.
Aggie, just because this is USU's bowl game does not mean it's
BYU's. Get a clue.
RE: Aggie84You're a little late to the trolling party. Chris
B. has already cornered "mark it down" so stating that victory for a BYU
opponent is "guaranteed!" feels a little too copycat. However, we BYU
fans truly do appreciate these grand claims because they usually work to our
benefit (i.e. Chris B's all-time prediction record is 6-94) so feel free to
keep 'em coming. Go Cougs!
BYU might be lucky to finish the regular season with 7-8 wins. The next four
could end up a 50-50 deal, and SJSU won't be easy at their place.Bronco hasn't yet shown he can play talent over loyalty to players
who've "earned it." His early season record against better teams is
likely a victim of that. It takes guts to tell a successful QB in Spring
practice that a better player (frosh) will replace him his senior year. I
don't think Bronco is that type of "gambler." He's too
conservative (and loyal) to make such decisions. Had he done so, Hill would be
much better prepared to take the helm than he is now.Other than
that, I'm a Bronco fan. But, that's a pretty big "other."
The Aggies have their own Chris B. now too? Spooky!
BYU's next three games are much tougher than the rest of their schedule.
Interesting to compare. USU - both Utah and Y plays. Utah played at Utah State
whereas the Y gets them at home (because they demanded a two home games to one).
Oregon State - both Utah and Y plays in the next three games. A home game for
the Y. An away game for Utah. Utah hosts USC (13th randed) at home. The Y
travels to N.D. ((ith randed). So two of the three games should be considered
more difficult for Utah. Not to mention the U must still play top 25 teams UCLA
(away) and Washington (away). Conclusion: My compliments for the Y scheduling
these three games - it will give you some idea of what the U faces 9-10 games
Glad to see some competitive games on the schedule. Utah State and Oregon State
are toss up games. If BYU can put a decent-good offensive game on the field,
both are very winnable, especially with our #5 ranked defense. Notre Dame is a
different story, on the road in south bend will be a HUGE challenge. I
don't see us coming out of there with a win. GT will be another win if we
can score points. If the offense can pull it together we are looking
at 10-3 season with a bowl win.Otherwise it's 8-5 or 9-4 depending on
who we face in the bowl game.As our friend Chris B always says, mark
Aggie84Get with the times, my friend. Even real trolls criticize
the Y that we will go to a bowl game, but it will be on the backs of a bunch of
JV wannabe high school opponents.WhatsInItForMeWhipping
up on Hawaii does not necessarily make Hill a better qb than a healthy Riley.
Of course, we may never see a healthy Riley again. I think we can agree that
Taysom is already a better runner, but his throwing still has huge, yet unproven
potential. He seems to make fewer mistakes, but also doesn't create
opportunities as well. In short, the decision is not as simple as
you make it sound. Playing a freshman, even one who is 22, too soon, too much,
against too stiff competition can be detrimental to long term objectives. Win
the battle, lose the war, ala Jake Heaps. Mostly I'm just
being argumentative to make a point. I don't think Riley will be healthy
any time soon. Ready or not, I too think it is Taysom time, and I think he is
probably more ready than not.
BYU's defense will keep them in all the games, including USU, OSU, and ND.
So I give them a chance to win all of them. Those who discount the importance of
defense usually wind up losing.

@strikerhahahaha someone doesnt like the truth do they? it's
hilarious that you y fans always say "well byu is utahs bowl game" but
you hate, hate, hate when it's said back in your face huh?
@blue husky get a clue. you have no chance against notre dame.even
osu will probably blow you out of the water.@the rockhaha stop using the "riley was hurt is the only reason we lost"
excuse. haha you y "fans" are somethin else. you'll think of every
excuse in the book as to why you lost to actual good teams then act like you
have a beast of a team when you beat up on bad teams (a la hawaii)
BYU could go 6-6 this year...Losses:UtahBoiseUSUNorte DameOre StateGa TechWins:Wash

any bowl you want after that season! The Don't Have Anything Else To Do on
December 9th Bowl... Or something!
I have no doubt that BYU will be able to go to their bowl... They play Idaho and
New Mexico State in their schedule still (Worse than Hawaii) so thats 5 wins...
The other is more tricky... They can't overlook USU... OREST and ND are
obviously going to be huge challenges... But the sixth win I think will come
against Georgia Tech... San Jose St is a very solid 4-1 team that lost to
Stanford by only 3 points. People like to make fun of the WAC but it is
currently ranked the number #7 conference in the nation (#1 non-BCS) Ranked
above the MWC, Con. USA. That ranking is because of USU, SJST, and Louisiana
Tech... BYU WINS:WASH STWEBERHAWAIIGEORGIA
TECHNEW MEXICO STIDAHOLoses: The Other 6@StrikerIts true that BYU gets their automatic bowl and the WAC
only gets 1 automatic, so unless the Aggies win the WAC they have no guaranteed
bowl... That being said, even if the Aggies don't make a bowl... The game
against Louisiana Tech would be closer to a bowl game than BYU... Louisiana Tech
is WAY better than BYU.
indycrimson"3 high school type schools"It's
laughable how clueless Utah fans can be about the world outside of Salt Lake
Valley.San Jose State(4-1) barely lost at #21 Stanford 17-20.According to your "brilliant" analysis, the elite teams of the
PAC are barely capable of beating high-school types teams.btw, the
Utes will be lucky to even qualify for a bowl - it's back to the 80's
for Utah, when BYU was Utah's bowl.
