Taxpayers need to put their local, state and federal governments on a diet.
Government has proven that it can dump hard earned taxpayer dollars down a rat
hole faster than we can keep up.
Thank goodness there still are some true statesmen like Hans Anderson. Keep up
the great work Hans.
Words can barely describe what methods some members or candidates of small govt
are willing to use in an attempt to gain or retain a position which pays far
less than the campaign costs or even warrants. When such expenditures on
campaigns far exceed any monetary benefit which a winning candidate might
achieve, it is time to examine the sources of many of these funds.I
see no logical or legal reason for incoming campaign funds to cross city
boundaries. The outcome of a campaign is often determined by how many times a
person is seen or the name is seen until the voting booth is entered and only
the names are visible. Utah has often voted in candidates with a popular
sounding surname, only to find that the person was incapable or untrustworthy of
such public office.I suggest an in depth look at the Orem City
budget, especially at the salaries of the city employees that are NOT part of
the Mayor/Council govt. I am completely astounded at the individual salary
amounts that you will observe.
