What 'statement' did they leave? They lost.
@ Proud to be AmericanJordan made a huge statement with the win.
They by far are the best team in the state of Utah, and they took the now ranked
13th best high school team in America, St John's Bosco, to the near brink
of defeat. Jordan lost that game in the final 45 seconds. Yes it's a loss,
but it was a 1 point loss. Jordan played fantastic, and had they made their
extra points, would have probably pulled the huge upset over St John's
Bosco. What a great game for a local school. Hat's off to the entire
coaching staff and Jordan team for a very well played game. Jordan has to be a
huge favorite to win the 5A crown this year.
Hey prepfanatic, Jordan LOST the game. Your first sentance would make a LOT more
sense if it was accurate. This is actually Jordan's 2nd loss
this year due to an XP. But one of them didn't count because of a power
failure. Utah football is not there yet, if your "best" team
can't beat a California team that will be middle of their own conference,
then there isn't much to say. The team that beat Alta would have also
drilled Jordan and Utah teams ended up 0-2. So what is there really to say other
than Utah football is fun to watch if you live in Utah, but not a factor on the
national scene. I dare say that Utah's best could not beat Texas's
Just FYI there at least a dozen schools in our county alone thatWould beat
Jordan or Alta. I don't understand this sense of trying toProve you
belong mentality, Your Utah! You will NEVER be in the Same league as
California schools. Bosco hasn't even been to a State Bowl yet.
Comparing California football talent to Utah is comparing Apples to steak.
WhereDo you think all rthe Utah Schools recruit the hardest . .
why is everybody giving flack to St John Bosco??? they are one of the Top ranked
team in the nation according to multiple sites. they are ranked 5th in the
entire state of california.. does that mean they are 2nd rate? no it
doesn't, it just means that their are 4 other cali schools in the top 25 in
the nation. @playwhereyoulive. he did say they lost, read the whole
post. @crowntown. you saying that SJB never being to a state game
only tells me that you judge the team based on past preformances and that you
have not seen them play at all this season. the only reason they are 1 and 4
is because of an ineligable player, who made little difference in the outcomes
of the games.
St John's Bosco is #5 in California and #27 in the country. They out scored
there first 4 "Cal" Opponents 217-22. look at St John's conference
teams national rank, #4 Santa Margarita, #35 Mater Dei, #286 Servite, #298
Orange Lutheran, #1371 JSerra Catholic. This is one of the top 5 conferences in
Why are so many people are getting down on Utah HS Football on this thread?
Naturally a highly ranked California school would be more talented that the
average Utah school. And yes, a loss is a loss; but Jordan hardly rolled over
for SJB, it was a fight to the end. And it's possible that the average
skill level of a California school is higher than the average Utah school, which
is caused by a much higher population density, giving a larger pool of players
to draw from. So Califonria, by no virture of it's own, but rather because
of it's population size, does natually produce more VOLUME of high skilled
football players. With that said, Utah has just a much capasity for producing
the skill LEVEL players that California does, if not in the same quantity. Utah DOES have something to prove, else Utahns wouldn't be talking about
wanting to show our talent off on a national level. The same is true of many
other small states. It's fun to have a moment to shine every once in a
while. You can keep your population levels, and we'll keep our national
Listen guys I live in Southern California and playing St John BoscoIs a
good team but they are not one of the traditional elites. My question to you
isWhat do you get out of it? To see where you stack up?You make
comments like "Well California has more people so they should win"So then why schedule against good teams from a state withThe best high
school football and make excuses. I almost choked on my Food when I read
that Utah produces just as much quality of talent as California. Ummm who
told you that? Recruiters from elite programs aren't banging down The
doors in Utah. You guys produce some kids the go to bigFootball schools
but not many.
A loss is a loss and if Jordan can do that where do they get the rankings? The
kids enjoyed playing in it and someone living in the past has something negative
to say. Dont be Hatin, Utah is a much better place to be playing foozball!!!!
crowntown1 I did choke when I read this part of your post "why
schedule against good teams from a state with The best high school football"
who are you kidding? Best HS football west of Texas, I'll give you that but
not in the country not even close. Florida, Texas and a handful of other
southern states produce better players and overall teams than Cali.
@clowntownSo it would appear that you somehow are responsible for
california's wealth of athletic talent? Why? I grew up in california and
now live in utah and other than when I was in high school I have nothing to do
with it. I just live here, you just live there.I always find it
amusing to hear people like you that actually think you are a factor or have
anything at all to do with any of it. You realize actual athletes laugh at guys
like you don't you?
