Bravo! Dress like a lady - act like a lady.
If some Brazilians now dress more modestly; do they resemble the average person
in the Northern Hemisphere??
this is the one of the most disheartening articles I have recently read. It is
hard to believe that a 21st century culture is looking to fashion established
2000 years ago as a reasonable standard. Pretty soon they will all be wearing
burkas as that was the "in" fashion of the time. I think men and women
should be free to dress as they chose and not be under the scrutiny and
judgement of other organizations, religions or institutions. Are we still that
afraid of the female body? God created us in His image...is that image something
we should be ashamed of and feel that we need to hide? The fundamentalist of any
religious group are the problem whether it is Muslim, evangelicals,
pentecostals, mormons, etc.
Chaliceman -I think you need not fear! I am TIRED of shopping for simple
ordinary tee shirts at Target and finding that they are too low or the neckline
too wide, meaning I have to shift my top to cover my bra straps throughout the
day. I do not want a high tight neckline, but I *DO* very much want to wear
clothes I can be free to move around in, bend, reach, lift, etc, without needing
to adjust or expose my skin or bra straps! I stopped shopping at Old
Navy completely 2-3 years ago because I simply cannot find anything in the
ladies's department that is NOT see-through there anymore! My basic
rule of thumb, if the fabric is thin enough for me to see my ring through,
it's too thin to wear without being layered, and here in AZ, I strive not
to layer any more than necessary! I want a single simple & flattering Tee.
Is that asking too much?? Apparently it is for Old Navy and so many stores.
I hope these stores will come to the US!
