To call the YouTube video clip a "movie" gives it too much credit.
It's less than 15 minutes long, and by all accounts is very poorly made.
What the violence is really about is local Islamist leaders inciting hatred for
America to increase their own power. Even Jon Stewart sees it, so it must be
very clear. The Obama administration's statements and
positions on this are incredibly naive and dangerous. They need to tell those
who incited the violence and killed our ambassador that we know what
they're up to and we will not stand for it. At the same time, we need to
wage the war of ideas and show that America is the land of religious freedom
that blesses the lives of Muslims and everyone else. Otherwise, anti-American
violence and sentiment will increase.
@Demostheneswhat is incredibly naive (and I would add reckless) is for
people like you and Romney to try to turn this horrible tragedy into a political
football for your own short term political gains. the President and the
secretary of state where very clear about their thoughts on this attack. Obama
stated "I strongly condemn the outrageous attack on our diplomatic facility
in Benghazi," Obama said in the statement. The four Americans, he said,
"exemplified America's commitment to freedom, justice, and partnership
with nations and people around the globe."Secretary of State Hillary
Rodham Clinton says the deadly attack on the U.S. consulate in eastern Libya
should "shock the conscience of people of all faiths around the
world."The statements being thrown around by the far right occurred
before the attacks, something that has been pointed out numerous times to the
far right. Romney and the rights twisting of the facts is just further proof he
is not ready to handle the very serious situations we face on a regular bases.
