There are over 4000 jobs listed on the DN that need filled. If you
don't like those jobs tell your republican congress to stop favoring
companies that move to China. That's been going on for 30 years so ou have
a lot of nerve to Blame Obama.
Obama has lots of problems. Without a doubt. (although when was it
dream-like?)The country has lots of problems - still.Certainly
one can make a number of cases for not re-electing him.2/3's of
voters believe that the country is on the wrong track54% dont believe
Obama deserves re-election.And yet, Obama has a slight lead in the
polls. That says volumes about Americas confidence in the GOP and
Is it STILL GWB’s fault?
The truth hurts! Time for a massive change and get back to the real America.
I hope you don't think this is in any way a balanced presentation. It is
as slanted, partisan rhetoric as it comes. It's not about presenting facts
to help people decide, it is an advocacy piece.
"Is it STILL GWB’s fault?"..two unfunded wars, 10,000 dead
Americans, 10trillion of the deficit, half of the unemployed, the bailout of the
banks..yes sir it is GWBs fault. To Joe Blows point America remembers this and
Romneys solution to our current problems is simply to go back to what brought us
Bushs' legacy. Interventionist foreign policy, and tax cuts. All too
familiar. If Romney had anything new he might have a chance despite is off
setting history and personality. But he doesn't. He won't even share
the details of tired old suggestions. Therefore he is losing and according to
the experts has nearly an 80% chance of losing in Nov.
Obama's "honeymoon" is finally over. Enough people have stopped
watching network news and reading "news" magazines, because of their
constant pro-obama coverage. The fact is that Americans will not continue to
listen to or read the lies, coverups and one-sided reporting. Obama
thought that he could get away with it. He thought that he could control the
press. He thought that he could "censor" anyone who spoke against him.
Perhaps he has never realized what it means to live in a "free country"
where government does not control access to media or the content of the
media. Those who think that Obama is ahead in the polls ignore the
news stories that clearly told that Romney is 14 points ahead when Democrats,
Republicans and Independents are polled properly. Obama is only ahead when the
independent vote is not polled and when the Democrat voters are over-sampled.
Maybe Obama thinks that lying about the polls will discourage pro-Romney voters.
What he will find is just the opposite. Because fraud was used to create those
polls, voters have one more reason to reject Obama.
Mike, what are you going to say when Obama is re-elected?
4 more years of Obama and number 7 in competivness will look good. We will be
right behind Somolia.
a nightmare? Come on DN... WW2 was a nightmare. Sheesh.
"Republicans are solidly united"? I quit reading at that point.
What is funny is that even with the Republicans doing everything in their power
to make Obama a 1 term president, Obama has managed to implement policies that
have caused 34 months of positive jobs growth. This is after taking
over as president when the economy was losing 700,000 to 800,000 jobs per month.
I would say that he has done well.If the Republicans had or would
put forth a bill to help the economy without inserting a requirement that tax
cuts be extended for everyone, the bill would pass and the economy could get
even better. It is the Republicans that are stopping the recovery
from fully working. They control congress with their filibusters in the Senate.
They are not helping the economy with their rhetoric, only hurting it because
they can control what happens already.Pass tax cuts for all but the
wealthy, they will pass both the House, Senate and the Presidential signature.
That stops the Republicans lies of "Largest Tax Increase in History"
when it is their own doing. BTW, the coming tax cliff isn't even in the
top 5 tax increases in history, let alone the last 40 years.
Mr. Obama has brought to the White House his Chicago style politics of winner
take all and don't cooperate with the opposition attitude. Combine that
with a far left ideology and you have Obama 2012. He is truly in over his head
and his hubris does not allow any introspection that tempers his arrogance. The
Audacity of Hope has become the hope of audacity.
Ernest T. Bass,If, after seeing the destruction that the Obama
administration has brought upon America, the electorate votes him back in
office, then we don't deserve to be a free people. If he has
so convinced the citizens that they must turn to Washington for their food,
their aspirin and their birth control, then we don't deserve the blessings
of liberty. If he has so convinced America that the government has
the right to seize two major companies and then give those companies to the
unions without paying the bond holders, then America no longer exists as
anything but a memory. If we are so spline-less that we allow a
President to apologize to heads of state, then we deserve a President who cowers
before the world.I think that we're greater than that. I think that America still raises sons and daughters who have a
backbone.I think that America does not want Washington to be its wet
nurse.I think that the majority of Americans have grown tired of the
circus and its Ringmaster who has danced on the stage for the last four years.
Re: Ernest T. Bass Bountiful, UTHave you seen the most recent
figures just released? Our economy is headed into the toilet and the Obama
Administration is hiding the real unemployment numbers. The only question now
is whether we're headed into another recession .... or fully blown
Romney is morally superior, intellectually superior (for the job in question)
and I trust him.Interesting how he is vilified for being the son of
his dad, yet BHO and even Michelle can't even cite theirs (mother in law
in the WH???? what happened to her dad? Has he passed away? Just curious) I'm still undecided, I guess....going to watch 2016 this
Thoughts?..yea where do you folks come up with this stuff? Seriously. I
understand string theory postualtes the exsistence of alternative universes but
they're suppose to be invisible..but then those scientist have never lived
I have to wonder why so many make statements which are quick to discredit any
achievements.According to Gallup polls and at the time Obama took
office about 10 percent thought we were going in the right direction. In a
recent poll it is 30 percent or higher. The major stock markets have
doubled in three years, march 2009 to march 2011, plus corporate profits are
stabilizing at very high levels. Historically markets have not grown this fast
in such a short period of time. For investors and those with IRAs this is more
of dream come true than a nightmare. Especially in Utah, where
unemployment is low, those with jobs will find purchasing a home a lot more
affordable because of the low interest rates. Furthermore a
majority of persons polled do not want the affordable health care act repealed.
Even within lower income levels more people have health insurance now, providing
at least a safety net. This is a dream come true some people. We can
find reasons to be critical but we can also find reasons to be positive.
Those here who are such vitrolic critics of Barack Obama have been vitrolic
critics since the beginning. They bought into the Republican strategy of
demonizing Obama since before he took office. The story was set out very early
to make people not like this man personally and politically. So it is difficult
to evaluate their comments effectively because they were biased from the day he
took office. Everything he has done, in their minds, has been an abject
failure. He continues to be "the other", unqualified for office and
essentially "un-American". So what is new? Conservatives
have so worked themselves up about Barack Obama, that they'd rather vote
for a child molester rather than for Barack Obama. Never mind that he turned
out to be a politician like any other politician with middle-of-the-road ideas
and policies. And, although they didn't want him, money eventually bought
Mitt Romney the Republican nomination as he morphed into a male version of Sarah
Palin where facts don't matter and tax cuts for the wealthy are the
solution to every problem and tough talk is the best way to deal with the world.
"the Obama Administration is hiding the real unemployment numbers."My understanding is this. The US DEPT of Labor calculates the
unemployment numbers. They have been calculated the same way for years and
years. It is a way to compare apples to apples. Care to
explain how Obama is "hiding" the real numbers.FYI, I am not
expecting you to back up your statement with facts. You seldom do.
The only people it seems to be a nightmare for, are those still trying to make
mit acceptable as a presidential candidate.and those who know that the end
of the world will come if Obama is re-elected.It might not be
"Dreamland for neocons" but it's far from a nightmare for the
Reymun, I saw 2016, reviewed it on my blog. I thought it was an effective
piece of propaganda. It argues that most of Obama's ideas come from the
anti-colonialist views of his father's. To me, that's really nutty.
First, who isn't anti-colonialist? Did you see anyone running for
President this cycle on a platform saying we need more colonies? Does anyone
think conquering foreign countries is a good idea? Of course Obama's
anti-colonialist. Everyone is. Second, it says Obama shows his contempt
for the West by getting rid of a bust of Churchill that used to be in the Oval
Office. What happened was, he moved it into the Residence. It was a routine
matter of White House redecorating, not an insult to Britain. Third, it
makes a big deal of the completely insignificant fact that Obama favors the
Falkland Islands being returned to Argentina. Uh, look at a map. Oh, and
one of Obama's grandpa's friends was investigated by the FBI for
Communist links under J. Edgar Hoover. Uh, like such radicals as General George
Marshall. It's a film that doesn't stand up to much scrutiny.
@raeman"I'm still undecided, I guess....going to watch 2016
this weekend...thoughts?"'2016 claim Obama is "weirdly
sympathetic to Muslim jihadists" in Afghanistan and Pakistan. He does not
mention that Obama ordered the raid that killed Osama bin Laden and the drone
strikes that have killed dozens of other terrorists in the region.2016 wrongly claims that Obama wants to return control of the Falkland
Islands from Britain to Argentina. The U.S. refused in April to endorse a final
declaration on Argentina's claim to the islands at the Summit of the
Americas, provoking criticism from other Latin American nations.2016
claims Obama has "done nothing" to impede Iran's nuclear ambitions,
despite the severe trade and economic sanctions his administration has imposed
on that country to halt its suspected nuclear program. Obama opposes a near-term
military strike on Iran, either by the U.S. or Israel, although he says the U.S.
will never tolerate a nuclear-armed Iran.
@reymun2016 falsely caims Obama removed a bust of British Prime
Minister Winston Churchill from the Oval Office because Churchill represented
British colonialism. White House curator William Allman said the bust, which had
been on loan, was already scheduled to be returned before Obama took office.
Another bust of Churchill is on display in the president's private
residence, the White House says.2016 asserts with no evidence that
Obama sympathized with native Hawaiians who felt they had been marginalized by
the American government when Hawaii was becoming a state. D'Souza also
asserts – again with no evidence – that Obama had been coached to
hold those views at Punahou, the prestigious prep school he attended.
@reymunIn Kenya, D'Souza (the director)interviews Philip
Ochieng, a lifelong friend of the president's father, who claims the elder
Obama was "totally anti-colonial." Ochieng also discloses some of his
own political views, complaining about U.S. policy in Afghanistan and Iraq and
saying the U.S. refuses to "tame" Israel, which he calls a "Trojan
horse in the Middle East." D'Souza seems to suggest that if a onetime
friend of Obama's late father holds those opinions, so, too, must the
president himself.I could continue but I think you get the point,
maybe you would be better served by by spending time reviewing things that
challenge your assumptions rather then reinforce them using baseless propaganda.
You got nerve Mike Richards, you are one of the most blatently truth challenged
people i have ever seen on this forum.
With all of the current issues facing our nation, what in the world is Pres.
Obama doing running around trying to raise money and campaign? We did not vote
this indvidual in to be absent from his post when the US needs a president the
most. This last week really made me stop and think about where my vote is going.
A president needs to be on the job and taking care of business. The Democratic
Party can raise money and campaign. Does he simply not understand his job?
The DeuceSince when is a president not allowed to campaign for
reelection? I'm guessing you didn't complain when Bush did it in
2004. And if you don't want him to have to raise money, fine. Support
publicly funded elections and campaign spending limits instead.I
swear, the harder Romney crashes and burns, the more desperate these forums
"The Dream" was never real or feasible - it was always a fantasy founded
upon ignorance and hype. Obama is not a practical leader - the man has no idea
how to lead or compromise. Also, Obama's is far far over his head with
economic matters and when the guy goes off teleprompter you see how
embarrassingly inept he really is. Socialism is his only background so trying to
lead a capitalistic economy is like trying to teach an elephant to fly. He
doesn't get it and he never will!!
To: KJB1 Eugene, OR: You may have missed the point of my comments. This relates
to priorities for the president. The US faces issues that have recently exploded
with our embassy's and the continuing problem of the budget and jobs. He
has simply been absent on all of these while out raising money. I don't
want a president who cannot prioritize what is most important. He was elected to
do a job and campaigning is not in the job description.
While the voters in Utah may loathe the current POTUS. The rest of the country
isn't buying into your opinion. For some reason the Gallup poll seems to
show the our President is currently out-polling "Our" guy Mitt. Utah is
not a swing state, unfortunately. Note to Mitt: You need to turn your Poll
numbers around. Your Political Consultants aren't doing their job. You need
better game plan.
I think its a good idea to reprint stories from other newspapers to provide a
more balanced view of the election.By the way, did you happen to see
the New York Times article entitled "Obama Erases Romney’s Edge on
Economy, Poll Finds"That would be another good article to
For anyone still wondering about this election, PLEASE go to a theatre to watch
the film, "2016-Obama's America". You will then know in BHO's
own words what his agenda is, his purpose, and his motivatiional drive for this
country. There will be no mistaking any of the rhetoric that he says today. More
importantly, YOU will know. It is a must see for the sake of our country.
