Ute Nation has long boasted that Kyle is the real deal! This week will prove us
right or give nay-Sayers some evidence to the contrary...Newly
revamped O Line...retooling at QB and special teams. Not what we had hoped for,
but again, this is why you hire coaches and pay them top dollar! How poorly the
UTES played on Friday will be more apparent at the end of the year when the
final chapter is written on USU...was this their big and only win for the 2012
season? Or will they end up being the real deal this year? Chucky is special
no doubt...Good luck Utes!
"Ute Nation has long boasted that Kyle is the real deal! This week will
prove us right or give nay-Sayers some evidence to the contrary"I've not heard of any "Kyle naysers". I suppose they
theoretically exist, but Kyle currently enjoys broad support. Every week is
important, but non-conference games aren't a big factor in the equation.
"Proving he is the real deal" comes in the weeks ahead.
Only two Ute comments on a Ute offensive line story... Ute fans must
still be in a coma after last Friday. This is funny.
I saw that there was big trouble with the O-line during the northern Colorado
game. A good utah state team exposed that. They blew punt protection and
allowed the aggies to play inspired early on. They couldn't protect the QB
and couldn't open up holes. Coaches shuffled things around and it got
better but didn't gel like it needed to. That is why we play NonConf games
early on. The non conf games are for tuneup and as a beauty contest for polls.
We will see if the further changes since Fri will help. Hays is much more
mobile so he doesn't need a perfect pocket to keep a play alive. If they
get a vertical game from hays white will do his thing and the balanced attack
could be efficient. The D got exposed when runners made it to the linebackers.
Our corners ends and linebackers got a good warm up with chucky being elusive so
they will be better equiped to handle nelson. Nelson is gritty and a great
runner but not as slippery as chucky or as speedy.
One big factor that will help the utes besides getting the O-line problems fixed
is getting Blechen back into the secondary. Too bad he won't be there
againt the Y it would be a big factor. He is speedy has a talent for breaking up
plays and just overall has respect and that "it" factor that inspires
his teammates. He is great at run support and will help the linebackers keep
contain and limit yardage when runners break into the secondary. His watch for
over the top threats will help to shrink the field and limit the deep pass
threat and that will focus more of the load at the line of scrimmage where our
D-line can wreak their havoc. Can't wait to see what happens this sat even
without blechen lighting up receivers that come his way! Maybe the utes can add
an exclamation point when closing this chapter on the rivalry while it goes on
break for a few years. GO UTES!
