The UHSAA lets football players transfer from Kearns to Bingham, but not from
California to Jordan. It doesn't make sense to me. The Guardian
shouldn't have forged the signatures but why make the players suffer?
BEETS, lessons need to be taught to everyone. If the UHSAA allows the kids to
play under your justification that they didn't know so don't punish
them, then every school will tell the guardians of transfers to forge the
signature because the students will still be allowed to play since they
didn't know about it. It is unfortunate that the kids get punished for
something they didn't know about, but the precedent it would set is not a
good one. Also, if conditions were so bad where they lived, why did
it take until their senior year to move them, or even until the end of summer
right before school started? If they knew the schools they were in were bad for
them, move them at the end of the year before summer. There are too many
negative situations with this transfer that makes me understand why they were
denied. The rules are in place for the betterment of the entire state, not just
for 1 or 2 students.
I agree with BEETS above. I wonder if these players would have been eligible if
they had transferred to Bingham? Curious how the Kearns players transferred to
Bingham soley for athletic reasons and because their Dad couldn't be the
OC, but just because they supposedly moved the transfer was
granted.Disappointing decisions by the UHSAA.
Outside of the fact that the entire family moved in the Bingham boundaries, AND
they didn't forge their documents!
This is dumbThey are in eligibleLike illegal aliens, do
it the right way or it's wrongThe players had plenty if time to
do it the right wayIf u think the kids didn't know everything,
you are very naiveNo way they should be able to play... Facts are
As was stated in one of the other articles, the boys have been at Jordan since
May. They have had plenty of time to get this figured out, and in the months
that they had to prepare someone chose to forge documents. Live and learn,
it's pretty simple.
No anyone on the board with the kids at heart just 3 egos that want to send a
message while ruining a kids change at college. Why do we have UHSAA running
public funded sports. They are not elected nor is anyone elected in charge of
it. The state legislature needs to get this under control.
