So we don't like Pelosi or Reid (somewhat understandable, especially Reid),
but we're OK with chronic liars John Boehner and Mitch McConnell as Speaker
of the House and Senate Majority Leader? Perhaps you just want leadership that
tells you the lies you want to hear.
I could also say that a vote for any Republican here locally is a vote for the
Eagle Forum and a vote for people such as Mike Waddoup, Scott Jenkins and the
rest of the ultra conservatives up on our Capitol Hill but I would much rather
vote for the individual and what they stand for and have stood for in the past,
based on them and not on their party.
We can tell ourselves that so-and-so is a good guy and that we wish we could see
a way to vote for him. What we really should be asking ourselves is what WE
believe and why we believe that.Do we really believe that we have
charged the Federal Government with the responsibility to issue aspirin and
birth control to the citizens? Is that enumerated in the Constitution? Do we want the Federal Government to tell us how much money we can make
or whether we can drill in Utah for oil to meet our needs? Do we want the
Federal Government to tell us what to teach our children and whether they can
offer a prayer at high school graduation? (After all, the Senate starts each
day with a public prayer.)What do WE think the proper role of
government is? When we look at each candidate, does that candidate REPRESENT
our views? I will not allow the government to pat me on the head
and tell me to be a good little boy while it decides what is right and what is
wrong. The government doesn't know right from wrong.
If by voting for local representation we're really voting for radical
extremists from their party, then wouldn't a vote for Mia Love really be a
vote for John Boehner? No thanks!
What's the point of voting then if two people control Congress? Lets cut
all other Congressmen off (that'll put a dent in the deficit by saving so
much in salary and benefits) and just send two people to Congress. What a stupid letter. It stinks of putrid partisanship. Where is the letter
writer's concern that a vote for repub Congressmen would be a vote for the
worst repub Congressmen from other states? So a vote for Matheson and
Howell are votes for Pelosi and Reid but a vote for Mia Love or Mike Lee
isn't John Boehner and Mitch McConnell anyone? Brilliant logic.
Any time I think of Pelosi, I try also to remember something even more
frightening.I remember Dick Cheney and GW Bush.
Say it ain't so Joe, I am more worried about John Boehner, his hack Eric
Cantor, and the worst of all Mitch McConnell all of which have delibrately
obstructed the business of the United States of America for the sole purpose of
making Barak Obama a one term President. They have ignored the will of the
American people weekly since the midterm elections and have yet to bring forth
any meaningful legislation to stimilate job growth. They have knowingly wasted
the time and efforts of Congress with legistation they know are just stall
tactics until the lameduck session. This is the main reason there is a 10%
approval rating and I for one wonder why it's that high.
Pelosi is a lot more honest than Romney or Ryan. When the nominees of the
so-called party of morals have less integrity than those they hate, you've
got some problems.
the letter writer convinced me, I will vote for Matheson.
This is an utterly silly basis on which to base your vote for YOUR
Think of Pelosi? Please, I just ate
Yes, he needs to obstruct and try to ruin the economy to get conservatives in
power to further ruin the economy. However they can move their money like
Romney to the Cayman Islands.
