go summit academy GO! Become the first to ever win the first three games of an inaugural season! Heck, go ahead and win all 9 and beyond! I won't be upset I promise!

I would've included 1999 to Manti's "glory years". They won it all (while going undefeated) in 1999. 1999-2005 should be considered Manti's glory years.

    1999 - State Champs
2002 - 2nd place (lost to Juan Diego)
2003 - State Champs (Beat Juan Diego)
2004 - 2nd place (lost to Juan Diego in the semis on a last second play)

MantiCoug, feel free to disagree, but in my analysis, I excluded any year that a team had a losing record, as Manti did in 2000. Thus the Templars' golden years were limited to 2001-05. And thanks for reading.

Thanks for the response Mr. Felt. Love your weekly article. So much cool info for a sports dork like me.

Obviously I made a mistake in my post. They lost in the semi's in 2004, not 2nd place.

One thing I will mention...while Manti had a losing record in 2000, they still upset the #1 South Sevier team in the playoffs to move to the quarterfinals.

    Thanks again.

Man.... Shutouts was the key word to Summit Academy's rare accomplishment in their inaugural season. And last night was far from a shut out wasn't it?
