In the article by Mr. Hollis he says Mountain Crest had two touchdowns called
back. This is incorrect. Only one TD was called back (the excellent punt return
by Eddy Hall), the other one mentioned in the article was never a touchdown at
all. The ball was caught nearly two yards out of bounds and was never ruled
anything but an incomplete pass. The way it's stated in the article is
very suspect and misleading, Mr Hollis needs to improve his accuracy.
Wow! This was an amazing game and such a heartbreaker as a die hard MC fan.
When Hall's punt return was called back for 12 men on the field it gave
Lone Peak an automatic first down? I was shocked. Also, the one second being
put back on the clock was a questionable call as well. That being said, both
teams played an amazing game and as much as it sucks, Lone Peak got the victory.
The great thing that both of these teams can take away from this game is that
just when it looked like the game had been won by the other side, they never
gave up. They had the heart and the drive to literally battle to the last
second of the game, and in my mind, that is the true heart of a champion. This
is why High School football is so amazing! Good luck to Lone Peak on the rest
of your season, and good luck to MC who has a tough battle next week against a
very good WX team.
I was at this game and I can truely say MC never gave up. They fought the
entire game and if it wasn't for that call that was made by the ref
conveniently on the Lone Peak sidline, MC would have won. That call killed us
and Lone Peak shouldn't be happy about walking off the field with the game
pretty much handed to them.
