Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you've got a business -- you didn't build that; somebody else made that happen." - Mitt Romney

    The only reason Obama's comment was controversial is because Republicans took advantage of the opportunity to use a sentence out of context hoping the American people wouldn't actually pay attention to what Obama was really saying.

    An evolution of big government from the Democrats starting at birth to death. Utah became from the LDS Church and the people arrived on the Mormon Trail. What part of government build the Mormon Trail? Who started the educational system in Utah? Who build the roads in Utah first? Who build the irrigation system in Utah first? Surely wasn't Washington D.C. This also holds true for the starting of this nation. But the Democrats would have us believe that because of Taxes the government is responsible for everything. That view is the same as Communism, which means all things are held in common.
