The wealthy pays eighty percent of all income taxes. The problem is excessive
spending.Decreasing taxes, and regulations on the rich would allow
them to hire more for their companies. Not signing the Canadian oil
pipeline deal has cost us 600,000 jobs--Toronto newspaper 2012.Many
barrels of Canadian oil is currently being trucked to the Gulf of Mexico to be
shipped to China. All Obama can think about is Romney's tax
And the Democrats claim Romney is out of touch?
The two are connected. Simple strategy, take additional money from the rich
that would be sitting in the bank, maybe overseas, and stimulate the economy
with job creation (roads, education, etc.). Corporations and the rich have not
stimulated the U.S. economy since 9/11. They have been investing overseas. I
know that because I see it everyday in my job.
HS FanSalt Lake City, UT,What are you talking about? Our
country holds the worlds record for funding education and roads. Should we take
from the employers and create new government jobs?So what if the
employers save some of their money. It's non of your, or Obama's
business. Do you think Obama paid any taxes on the hundreds of millions spent
for vacationing? Do some homework and see how much of our money Michelle has
spent. You don't keep re-investing in wasteful spending. The
infrastructure card has been played many times. Does a sixteen trillion dollar
debt ring a bell?
Obama is tied to his far left wing base, just as Bush was beholden to the far
right. His "stimulus" has gone to failed enterprises such as Solyndra
and other crony capitalism rewards. His saving the auto industry ignores the $48
billion still owed. General Motors profits have come from off shore success. Our
president lives in a fantasy land of tax and spend after deriding Bush in 2008
for using a Chinese credit card. He called it unpatriotic and irresponsible,
Both accusations are correct.
Re: HS Fan Salt Lake City, UT"Simple strategy, take additional money
from the rich ...."That goes hand in hand with Obama's
philosophy that: "If you've got a business, you didn't build
that." What the liberals refuse to understand is that corporations want to
bring their money home to invest in America but when they do they get hit with a
35% tax on it.Corporations have no moral duty to empty their pockets
so Obama can flush their money down a rat hole.
A lion raised in a zoo would die if placed in the wilds. Dependency has
prevented the development of survival skills.Hard work and success
are rewarded with higher taxes and government intrusion, while slothful, lazy
behavior is rewarded with EBT cards, WIC checks, Medicaid and subsidized
housing. Our follow Americans are losing the urgency of survival, and
becoming beggars, and whiners.
@ DN: You denied this? Ridiculous. But I guess I'd better flesh it out a
bit.Mark Weisbrot of the Center for Economic and Policy Research
said, "Of course, the federal government should be engaged in stimulus
spending right now, but it is being held back by superstitious beliefs about the
public debt. In reality, we don't have a federal debt problem."I said, "Someone should give back his Economics degree, if he even
has one".The rationale for my deleted comment should be obvious.
Some federal debt is fine. It helps with the ebb and flow of GDP when there is
not enough revenue to cover basic services. But we are (and have been since
Reagan, increasing with each successive POTUS) in a debt crisis, where
maintaining our debt has become so burdensome as to take more than 1/3 the
entire federal budget - that's if we HAD a federal budget for the last 3
years, something congress has been derelict in their duty on.Why do
you think the current administration is clamoring for more taxes? We pay enough
taxes now to provide every needed federal service. But the debt does not allow
