    If Americans spent a lot of time following the high school math tournament or heaven forbid helping and encouraging their own children to excel academically where would they find the time to watch dancing with the stars or attend tea party rallies?

    Had it been a basketball game or celebrity awards show it would have been different. It doesn't matter, because pro 'athletes' and celebrities are what drive economies, correct?
