I always look forward to reading Jerry Johnson's columns. He always goes
beyond the obvious and shares wisdom. Thanks.
RE: Bread a Biblical type of Jesus. …The Lord unto Moses, Behold, I will
rain bread from heaven for you;…(Ex 16:4)I am the bread of life: he
that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never
thirst.(John 6:35) For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the
will of him that sent me. v 38.@Bread as accurate fulfilled Biblical
prophecy. "In Bethlehem in Judea," they replied, "for this is
what the prophet(Malachi) has written: ".'"( MT 2:5),, The
birthplace of David and later of Jesus (1Sam 16:1, Matt 2:5, Lu 2:4-7). The name
Bethlehem means "house of bread" because the area was a grain-producing
area in Old Testament times. (Jesus)…born of Mary at
Jersusalem? … who shall be overshadowed and conceive by the power of the
Holy Ghost(Spirit) and bring forth a son yea, even the Son of God. ( Alma 7:10).
I miss the two-minute talks. They were full of fun facts like this
article's. As a kid, they filled me with wonder and gave me something to
daydream about for the rest of the day. Did you know that the Eskimos have
39,000 words for snow?
The lesson I have been trying to share as a senior missionary is that there are
only two things you take out of this life. Your experience and your
relationships. Your experience will be never ending and so will your
relationships. The most important relationship is with the Savior. The most
important experience will be in coming to know him and what he wants for you.
