And years down the road, if guilt is found, Walmart will pay a large fine which
will impact the stockholders.Those that DID it, and those that
covered it up, will have no personal penalty.We would reduce the
need for regulation the day that these kinds of things REQUIRE that someone go
to jail.As it is, the people punished have nothing to do with it.And I am told that corps will do the right thing without regulation.Does anyone really buy that?
Bribery occurs so rarely in Mexico. I don't believe for a minute that any
official south of our border would accept money to grease the wheels of
commerce. Certainly Wal-Mart's actions didn't hurt anyone on this
side of the border.
