Army reservist's son gathers old glory 'to show respect' to U.S.
Thank you for doing that!Thank you, also, for noticing that many of the
flags put out by Boy Scouts are in terrible shape and should have been retired
long ago. Now, all we need is another Boy Scout to teach his fellow
Boy Scouts how those flags should be handled, while placing them in
neighborhoods and removing them. Throwing them in the back of a truck, after
just rolling them up, isn't very honorable.l
Good for this young man; good for him. I can't count how many times
I've gazed, disappointedly, at a flag that is obviously "well past its
prime". I've seen them in yards, at places of business, and even a few
at government builings.Mant people today have lost the proper
meaning our flag has for us, and think nothing of flying it in the snow, rain,
in all kinds of foul weather, even leaving on the flagpole 24 hours a day.I'm glad this soon-to-be Eagle Scout is doing the citizenry a favor
by reminding them, even if just by a little bit, of the kind of respect that the
symbol of our country is due.
