Ironic he calls Corbin unprofessional. Well, don't let the door hit you on
the way out old man.
Anybody else sad they're not going to see Bell throw up brick after brick
anymore? I'm not...Ah well, at least I can still respect him
for what he did to Kobe a few years back.
I don't know, man... Raja has always been a pro's pro, very
articulate, smart, hardworking, and defensive minded - all qualities that the
Jazz lauded when they re-signed him. My guess is that Raja had certain
expectations about his playing time, role, and teammates that were not met when
the Jazz changed the direction of the franchise last year and he voiced his
frustration. I understand that you have to soldier on and do your job
regardless, but to bench the guy for most of the end of the season was a bit
harsh I think. Sloan had many battles with players, but I don't think he
was vindictive about it. If there was a guy on the team who could help them
win, he played them. I think it was more personal for Ty. Of course, the team
is keeping this one close to the vest, so we'll probably never know the
details, but any time you have to buy out a contract...mistakes were made.
I think Raja would have played more at the end of the season if it hadn't
been for Burks. Burks earned the increased minutes he got as the season
progressed and Bell didn't like sitting and waiting to play on the bench.
Personally, I didn't like the amount of body & hands he used on others
as a defender, kind of like Derek Fisher. But he was one of the Jazz's best
defenders over the years, that's for sure.
Great News. The only thing I am going to miss with his departure is
the lady ringing the cow bell every time Raja would hit a shot.
Apparently the Jazz can't trade him. Unless there was another player that I
really wanted, I would not buy him out. It appears that the Jazz are intending
to go with a rotation at the 2 and 3 of Heyward, Williams, Millsap and Burkes
but if one or more of them went down, they would need Bell especially his
defense in certain situations. I'm afraid that most of us are going to have
Bell's opinion of Corbin before the season is over.
