Reyes campaign files cease and desist order to stop radio ads
I personally don't trust the beneficiary of the radio ads in question. In
my mind it is an old song... deny, deny, deny but enjoy the benefits. After being harrassed by Swallow phone calls I would'n buy a used car
from him. Unfortunately the do not call lists do not apply to political calls
or those involved just ignore the rules.
I guess we need to vote for someone. If it will irritate the people in Nevada,
then Reyes gets my vote.
There comes a time that people stop listening to campaign ads becasue we all
know they are lies and total deceptions and lack any truth at all. Mud slinging
is part of the game and its fodder and wasted energy to stop. By now most of the
people have their minds made up and they might as well save all their spending
on advertising, no one believes it anyway.I wouldn't vote for
Reyes because he is a lawyer, they make the worst representatives that think too
long and usually think wrong. We have all seen how they operate in a court of
law and that's how they function in any public office. They bring their
profession to the wrong side of representation. We already have a judicial
governemnt, we don't need them in office as covert representatives. I would propose that a state law constitutional modification that
lawyers be blocked as elected representatives of the people, they are too out of
touch of the reality of citizens to properly represent us.
Deny but don't rebuke? Reminds me of Dan's earlier claims that he had
nothing to do with freedom works. I wanted to believe him. I was wrong. I
won't make that mistake again. If I were running a clean
campaign and these ads popped up, I'd do everything possible to stop them.
A kid watching the bully beat up a kid is a bully just the same.
I am rather ambivalent about this race but I do have a couple of comments:1. To "alternate" Do you understand the laws and the relationship of
super-pacs and candidates?2. The fact that Sean Reyes was involved in a
road rage incident says he might have judgement issues or might have had an
exceptionally bad day. His deliberate attempt to use the law to bury the events
being publicized DOES leave doubts in my mind about his character, maturity, and
potential abuse of power if he were in office.
I was offended by the Robo call from Sean Reyes yesterday, blaming John Swallow
for negative ads, when it was the super pacs and it was just after a outside pac
lit into Swallow that arrived in the mail yesterday. The same pac that lit into
Carl Wimmer. So this outside pac just goes after people that run against
campaigns that Alan Crooks runs?I have seen nothing buy civility
coming out of the Swallow campaign. I can't say that about Reyes. His
latest robo call is hypocritical. I voted for Swallow.
@My2CentsThey are running for ATTORNEY General. I think being a
lawyer is a basic requirement for the job.
I've known John Swallow since law school. He is a good guy. And, I think
the Reyes campaign signs -- not from any super PAC, but his own signs -- saying
"real lawyer, real integrity" are slimy. They imply that John Swallow
is not a real lawyer -- ridiculous. Or that he doesn't have "real"
integrity -- again ridiculous. I for one am glad that somebody is digging up
facts about Reyes that he doesn't want publicized, showing that he may be
the one with the integrity problem. Not necessarily the road rage incident, but
the under the table cash payments to a consultant.
After hearing the ad on the radio yesterday it confirmed I wanted to vote for
Reyes. I met him as a county delegate and was impressed by him. I actually had
voted for Swallow when he was running last time. I will be voting for Reyes on
My2Cents: Does that mean you don't vote. Swallow is also a lawyer,a
lobbyist, a politician, Shurtleff's lackey (Oh Yes! Chosen and Anointed
one), and he takes credit for the work of those under him as chief Deputy (Oh!
but there are two) but he does not specify this in his campaign, making it sound
like he is the one and only.He made it sound that he was responsible
for the Supreme court case against OBAMA care, but in reality it was others and
the only part Utah played was that they could be a party to the lawsuit. He did
not argue it and the state paid an outside firm to handle the arguments before
the Supreme Court.
Great, andother fluff piece. Both candidates have superpacs and people doing
these hit pieces. SLC Weekly did that piece where the guy recorded Swallow doing
his job. They spun it. Now it is the Swallow Pac's doing it. Turn about is
fair play. If you don't want people making hay about your road rage,
don't brag about it to the Salt Lake City Weekly, then whine about it when
they use it against you. Seriously, what were you thinking!?! Then you submit a
complaint because they quote you? Good heavens man!
