Congress will renew the bill to continue to spy on US citizens. Its the way we
are headed. You cannot vote these people out fast enough.
It seems like every article on domestic spying is focused upon the government
spying and completely ignores the domestic spying by other special interests.
Although there have been cameras in stores, casinos, parking lots
and where ever, nobody complains about these. Telephone conservations were
never assumed to be private. Attempts to privatize communications by scramble
and other means doesn’t always work. The people who
would hinder the operation of the security cameras are probably criminals
wishing to do something illegal. So, when I hear the fear propaganda about
government invasion of privacy, I suspect that it may be the same kind of
people. Seems like we were robbed of our privacy a long time ago by
others, so why would we worry about the government.
@Ultra Bob: 7000 years of human history tells us we should be wary of our
government. Our constitution was written with the intention of being wary of
power hungry people in positions power. Its none of the governments
business what I'm doing. Especially if I'm not breaking the law. As
soon as it is the governments business (because they made it their business) we
as a society will pay for it (in taxes and freedoms).
What an Orwellian society we live in . . .
