I know what some of you are thinking. I know by past reactions to the death of
Bin Laden that Chavez' death would be a welcomed change in that part of the
world. News reports authored by American journalists and the White House reveal
that Chavez, (similar to the vilification of Castro in Cuba), is a dangerous
dictator that requires ostracizing by America. Why, however, except
for a pocket of detractors, do the citizens of Venezuela seem to idolize
President Chavez the way that many Americans are enamored with President Obama?
Could it be that American leadership, with the aid of propaganda, has
effectively swayed public opinion of Chavez because he, in the same manner as
Castro, has repeatedly thumbed his nose to American corporate controlled
domination and refuses to play by western dictated rules of engagement? Reports of Chavez' brutality come with no real evidence. We are
left with hearsay and are left to blindly trust in our intel. I can't say
yea or nay at this point. As a juror, I would just like more conclusive evidence
of Chavez' evil ways.
Jonthan Eddy,Actually, I had a couple companions in my mission from
Venezuela and they say Chavez is an evil tyrant. That's pretty good
evidence for me. Coming from the very people he controls.
Chavez does not beholden the golden rule of Christ. He wanted to be like Robin
Hood, robbing the rich to pay the poor.
