Glad to hear Kofe will be OK -- though I always cringe when sports commentators
and newspapers make light of concussions. No traumatic brain injury should be
Congratulations to my alma mater! Wonderful job guys!
Congratulations to the Cougars and BYU! Great game and a well deserved
victory!Wonder if there will be any dispute about this NC!
Way to go Cougs! ! ! Another NC for the Rugby team. It is so very nice to cheer
for a school that is so competitive in so many, many sports. While in many parts
of the Nation there are fans that have to wait for a certain time of year to
come out of hibernation to cheer for their teams, we get to follow so many
different sports and witness so many athletes compete for BYU. Last
nights game was hard fought and we came out on top. Congrats to all the team
members and especially the Seniors for a fun season. Let's make another run
at it next season.
Congratulations Cougs! Playing hard and playing with sportsmanship is carrying
BYU's colors with class. Thank you.
What a match ! The Cougs had a very tough opponent with Arkansa State. They
scored twice before BYU got on the board. That set the tempo, from here on I
knew it was going to be a fun match. I was not disapointed, BYU pounded away on
the red wolves leaving no doubt they controled the match and the title.
Congratulations Cougars!! We've had a blast all season long (wheather it
be going on the road with you guys or driving to Provo) watching you guys pound
it game after game and to end the season the way that you did, we were so happy
for you guys. Well deserved! Rise and Shout!
I hope this game puts to rest the fallacy perpetuated by the media that the
altitude in Utah is some sort of an advantage to home teams. If the game had
lasted five minutes more, ASU would have won. BYU was staggering on defense the
last part of the game.
sammygYou know there will be. Cal wasn't in the premier
division this year so they weren't eligible for the title game. I watched
Utah play to a one point loss earlier this year, but I'm still convinced
BYU would have beaten Cal. BYU was just too good this year.
re:Wer, nice try to take a cheap shot at a national championship. You're
red with envy. With 10 minutes left BYU had the game won, with two minutes
left BYU emptied the benches. I watched the cougs all year, they've matched
every condition, scheme, game plan thrown at them. They are the National
Champions and you, for at least one day should resist raining on their well
Great work, Cougs. 17-0 and NC make for an incredible season.
Perfect ending to a perfect season. Thank you BYU Rugby! It was fun to be there.
Congrats! Great win. I would have loved for it to be Cal rather than somebody
else, just to exact some revenge. But if they aren't willing, then so be
it. BYU is the best this year. Hopefully we can carry some of this to the
football and bball seasons.
Props to BYU and Brian Nicholson of the DesNews - nice gallery. We don't
see a lot of good rugby photos here in the states, and this was a good shoot :)
Congrats, byu! It looks like byu put on a great show for the three fans in
I'm really pleased with the performance of the BYU Rugby team. I do wonder
though what would've been the outcome if Cal had not pulled out of Rugby
USA Division 1A competition. What a horrible loss for collegiate rugby to lose a
team like Cal that has such a long tradition of rugby play.
In other news, BYU also won the pinochle and bezique World Championships!
@Otis, those three fans represent the avg attendance at the HC in hoops. Nice
try though...looks like your natl chamionship envy is showing again.
Otis the jealous one"...the Cougars celebrated the win in front
of a blue-clad crowd of 8,733." - actual attendance for a BYU RUGBY
match!reported average 2011-12 men's basketball attendance in
the HC - 8,394 (but, we all know that thousands of runnin' Ute
season ticket holders spent most of the season coming to the HC disguised as
empty red chairs) - actual average attendance in the HC - less than
6,000anywayCONGRATULATIONS BYU on another RUGBY NATIONAL
CHAMPIONSHIP!!Remind us again, Otis, how many national championships
the Utah men have won without the help of the Utah women*crickets*
