Bad for the economy and raises the cost of dairy products. These kinds of
government subsidized and sponsored demonstrations have little to no value and
only makes the economy worse. Sun and wind powered energy are not sustainable or
reliable sources of energy. So it can be done does not make if viable or worth
the millions of dollars of investment cost that will never be recovered or paid
for.And that is why it has never been done, its a waste of more
energy trying to make this scam to work. Not only does it waste energy, the
decline of customers will raise the cost of other none industrial users for the
more reliable cheaper energy of coal powered plants. So called green
energy is a hoax and a lie and does not work. It is failure in concept, cost,
reliability and being sustainable. And it doesn't create jobs.
The longer description says the farmer added the solar panels to "save money
on energy costs". He may well be saving money, but only because the
intallation costs were paid for with tax money. If he paid the installation
costs himself, it would be a net costs, not a net savings. Solar
energy, at least for now, is a false economy, subsidized by tax money.
Europe's solar energy market is declining rapidly now that they can no
longer afford to subsidize it. Solar energy may be able to stand on its own at
some point, but we aren't there yet. Can we truely afford to subsidize it?
Some will criticize this farmer by proclaiminig that government incentives and
subsidies for the solar panels show that renewable energy can't compete in
the marketplace on costs. Those critics, however, need to recognize
that energy isn't a free market and that farmers' reliance on a
utility monopoly means that they are always at the mercy of energy and pricing
decisions made for them by profit-minded utility executives. With no
competition, farmers must pay the electricity prices set by their monopoly
utility.I was privy to some discussions about the likelihood of
carbon taxes on Utah's reliance on coal, and one utility decision maker
noted that they weren't worried about future carbon taxes and increased
cost on coal because of their ability to pass those costs onto rate payers was
virtually assured given that the monopoly utility is entitled to a "fair
profit" regardless of its escalating costs. In another
conversation, I learned that utilities like wind power because it is cost stable
for 20 years -- no fuel prices and no future carbon taxes -- but they can sell
it at a premium to "green" customers above their escalating fossil fuel
rate. Farmers need energy alternatives.

forever and ever, and America has enough to last forever if those danged
enviroterrorist would only allow the oil and gas companies to just stick their
hose in the ground and pump into our cars and homes.
