Special ed teachers are a most dedicated group, especially of the profoundly disabled. They make a huge difference in the lives of their students and the parents, but those differences may seem insignificant to the quantifiers. The mandate to educate all our children is still there. If education by special ed teachers results in students who are happier, more content and can communicate more effectively, then for these children, that is huge progress. Special ed is a high burnout branch of education, let's give these teachers all the support and encouragement (financial and otherwise) we can.
