Opponents foresee a federal takeover of public education
Given that the federal Department of Education and its tainted funding has
driven much of the decline in our education system over the last 50 years, we
really need to ask:"If the recommendations of the career
education establishment over the last 50 years are so good, then why are our
kids receiving such poor educations?"The answer is, of course,
that what was once one of the best education systems in the world has been
dumbed down to a morass of self esteem, new math, and marginally competent union
drones permanently embedded in government indoctrination centers. The results
of this system are a dismal failure compared to educational achievement 50 years
ago, or the results turned in by other nations around the world today. Therefore, it would be good to (a) ignore the "common core" tar baby,
and the lure of federal funding that will inevitably be attached to it, and (b)
seek to free ourselves from dependency upon, and enslavement by, "free money
from Washington" passed out by the education department.Of
course, the entire federal Department of Education should be abolished anyway.
Interesting that those who want to measure the success of Utah schools based on
standardized testing also want to avoid having Utah share the same standards as
the other states being tested. Those who decry the use of common core standards
don't realize those are not federally mandated or created standards. The
criticism of common core standards by those who have not examined them is
illogical, bordering on ridiculous.
To the mom who wants her kids in the AP classes: Don't do it! AP classes
are great as far as they go - however, the grade all comes down to how well the
kids do on the test at the end of the year. Concurrent enrollment classes are a
better way to go - the student gets graded on the work they do, not just the
test and it helps them get through college faster.Do some research
on the issue and you will see that concurrent enrollment offers greater
unreal the uncool things someone that is a corporate brain washed person will
say. anti union anti federal government. we are all the federal government and
unions have helped all labor. and gail is no one to listen to anyway she would
make utah a one worship state and be a country for her views only. which really
these people want freedom to take away other paoples freedom. its on all of us
are that education has gone down hill face it. more money is being spent for
president and election then we spend on education. the rich want an uneducated
mass so they can pay less money that is why they move companies to utah.
When "education officials" speak about "misinformation," they
really mean, "People know what we're doing and they are going to make
us explain ourselves. Run for cover!"
The only way Utah's neo-conservative Republicans can win is by frightening
people into voting for them. This is just one more example.

would ever be) official, and uneducated people fall for propaganda using
bumper sticker logic and colorful brochures, it goes to show how easily
some people are lead by false information.
