I thought it was an American tenet that "All men are created equal."
Why then are we treating outsiders with such contempt? Don't they also
have human rights? Americans need to remember where we came from and reverse
our building of a special privileged class. It's time to re-light the lamp
and invite the tempest tossed to our shores.
This is a consequence of our failed immigration policies which this newspaper
has vigorously defended. Are we then to have no enforcement at all? To allow in
absolutely everyone who claims to be seeking asylum? What foolishness.Look at the "refugees" in the picture. They're from Afghanistan
and Iran, you say? Seeking refuge in Australia, you say? Google a world map and
tell me how many countries are closer to Afghanistan and Iran than Australia.
How many countries more linguistically, economically, and culturally compatible
did they bypass or transit try to get to Australia? Tamil "refugees"
from Sri Lanka avoid the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, where they are an
overwhelming ethnic majority, and which is not 100 miles from their shores, to
travel over 3,000 miles to Australia. Because they're
"refugees."There is NO civil right to immigrate to the US.
None. Our justice system is frighteningly overburdened as it is. They do not
have a right to a trial by judge or jury. And when they arrive here or in
Australia, having bypassed so many nearer, more compatible states, their claims
should be assumed to be bogus.
