    Great article.

What makes their rivalry great is that they both have great basketball teams. Duke vs UNC is a great rivalry as well.
Louisville and Kentucky are still big rivals even though they are in different conferences.
This is the first Final Four matchup of schools from the same state in 50 years.

Just don't think Utah vs BYU will ever become as passionate. Really nothing the line. Neither team looks like it will be making the Final Four anytime soon. Both in the same year will never happen.
We'd be lucky to see Utah & BYU both in the sweet 16 in the same year. When was the last time that happened?

Why would we want to watch college games, when we have the best basketball players in the world regularly coming to ESA to play the Jazz?

Dick's article is accurate. The fanatacism that exists in the Bluegrass is lightyears beyond what exists in Utah. A great example was how when Pitino coached at UK people would actually dig up small parts of his lawn and keep it in a jar.

Of course, Louisville is and always will be the red-headed step child to UK.

Here's the difference between Kentucky and Louisville. Louisville has Pitino and Kentucky has class.

I live 2 hours from both Lexington and the 'Ville and I echo all that Mr. Harmon stated in this article. This region is a college BBall hotbed. Few here cares about the NBA. In our little tri-state area we have UK, U of L, Cincy, Xavier, OSU, Ohio U, Indiana, Purdue, etc. But Kentucky BBall is king. UK fans are on a totally different stratosphere from other schools' fans. If 'Ville wins, Lexington will probably cave into the earth in an apocalyptic ball of flame. In that case, Go Cards!
