People can try to protect their water "rights", but I think that
eventually pipe lines will be built and Las Vegas will get its water. There is
just too much money invested in Las Vegas, and, eventually, money always wins.
This plan by Las Vegas and the State of Nevada is just as smart as building
homes and structures to make Las Vegas one of the highest foreclosure rates.
They don’t use water for beneficial use and their plan is to deplete the
desert of the needed water for their city. They can’t tap into the
Colorado as that is already done with a western state pact. So they go to an of
normal outreach drainage to put the water in another drainage system. That new
drainage system will then have more water potential and that will make the old
contract void or at least in dispute because California and Arizona can then tap
off of that water drainage from the new water. There are always unknown
reactions when we change Mother Earth like this. Power grids can change by
California tapping off of the Utah power and leaving environmental issues in
Utah but water is a different ball game.
