    A budget that doesn't raise taxes or cut budgets? Holy smokes! I believe that's called a "balanced" budget! We're a predominantly Republican state. How on earth did our Legislature accomplish this? Could it be, they actually understand the concept of not spending more than they take in? Well done ladies and gentlemen!

    DN you got it wrong. Teachers will not receive a raise as the legislature does not fund social security and retirement for teachers as they do other public employees. This is not an optional line item for districts. The 1% is not enough to cover these costs so once again, no raise for teachers.
