Seems that right wing Utah does better then the Obama cabal.
Thanks Jon Huntsman, you left us well healed and directed, if only Bush-Cheney
after recieving a presidency and country with a balanced budget, would have left
the same after 8 years of service the whole country would be economically sound!
Now it will take another 2 terms to rid ourselves of them and their parties
drunken spending and law changing to right the national ship. What a disgrace
they and others in their party are!
utah number 1. looks to me like we should hurry and turn the state over to the
liberals. they know best.
Interesting - why not put a photo of the Salt Lake Valley with the smog blanket
that normally covers it? Industry is doing well at the expense of the taxpayers
Re: Old Timer | 6:42 p.m. Jan. 19, 2012 The story says "For
years, Utah has gotten things right when it comes to tax policy, regulation and
labor policy"That says it all. Us backwards unsophisticated
folks in Utah seem to have all the answers when it comes to the economy.
Meantime Gov. Brown in California is begging the voters to agree to more taxes
because they are drowning in a sea of red ink. It's the sad state of
the national economy that is going to make Obama a one term president.
More lies and misleading information. Most taxpayers don't realize that the Utah
budget and spending is 90% federal funding on civil projects, where federal
funds are diverted to private busienss in tax incentives, tax funded jobs, and a
large chink of the federal funds doing wondrous job of inflating China's
economy. Our economy is only as good as long and the federal funds
keep pouring in. If Utah had to function on its own merits and taxpayer funding
we would be in bankruptcy. And the way this state keeps wasting tax dollars and
when the funding stops we will see just how well the Utah economy isn't. We will
be the laughing stock, we will be the national paupers.Utah's
economy, education, and health care are federally funded, taxpayers taxes don't
make a dent in the state budget trillion dollar spending affluence we have.
After the election, Romany won't be there to bail out Utah government so be
prepared for our looming economic depression.
It apppears you folks up in Utah aren't taxing the "rich" enough!
Better get it done so you can be like California!
Oh No! this is horrible news. That means people aren't living off of the
government. We better increase taxes, run businesses out of the state, and make
sure everyone is on welfare and some form of assistance. How horrible that a
state isn't filled with dependents and union workers. How on earth can people
ever compete without those things that blue states have?Could you
imagine that the State of Utah expects people to hold a job and work? Why can't
we be more like California or New York or New Jersey with high taxes, unions,
and more dependentcrats?Where's that mighty obama when you need him?
Look no further than a golf course or some major destination around the world.
Also look for the second airplane carrying his wife just hours ahead of him, and
the other jet carrying his dog....It must be really hard to be
president. With my family we would fly every single person in their own personal
jet. but the poor president has to group his wife and kids together. that's
carpooling in the liberal world!
Have a look at the migration patterns. People are migrating to states such as
Utah, which has low taxes, is business-friendly, and is "right to
work." They're leaving states that are high tax, business-hostile, and
"forced union." We're doing it right, and that upsets a great many
wrong-headed people. It's easy to debate when the facts are on your
Love the pension reform mention. It's an issue that is not often in the
spotlight but with medicaid could have ended up eating a huge chunk of the state
budget. Thank you Mr. Dan Liljenquist! Hope you have as much success reforming
the nation's fiscal problems as our next senator.
Major props to Dan Liljenquist for having the courage to make needed reforms to
the state pension system to remove a massive risk that was on the taxpayer
THANK YOU DAN LILJENQUIST! "Williams also said that the state's
recently enacted employee pensions reform legislation will serve as a model to
other states around the country as they try to mitigate long-term budget
