Suspect tells her mother she's a victim, too
Surprised???They are either two of the most dimwitted people on
Earth or they've been so wasted on meth or some other substance for days that
they truly have no idea what they've been doing. Or maybe, like everyone, they
are innocent. ;^)
" "I don't understand what's going on," she cried."She'll have plenty of time to understand what she's been charged with before
her trials in both Nevada and Utah. If convicted hopefully they will serve
consecutive sentences in both states.
Sounds like confinement is sobering her up and allowing her to realize what she
I was shocked to see a total lack of concern for the victims by Hills parents (
the Atwoods ). They seem totally unresponsible and I'm sure their parenting has
alot to do with why she turned out the way she did. Macfarlanes parents were at
least apologetic to and concerned for the victims family.
@B Russ: completely agree!I just read her parents are saying she did
it because she is bipolar. Excuses! This is not her first round with justice
either. She once was charged with promoting deliquency to minors. I have to
admire his parents when admitting he did what he did because of drugs and
justice needed to be served. As a parent, they must be living the worst
nightmare but you cannot make excuses for your children.I guess they
are just coming back to earth now that the drugs are wearing off. Maybe they
thought it was all fun and adventure walking on the desert like they were in
some movie. I hope someday they realize the damage they made to that couple's
family and to the women they shot at. I just hope...
Here is my guess at the potential defense strategy. The defense will argue that
their client was "in fear of her life" and "had to obey" her
captors demands. They will also argue that she did not know how to hold a gun
let alone shoot another human being. We will get to hear stories about a
troubled childhood and drug addiction. Oh yeah and do not forget the hints at
mental instability and the abuse suffered at the hands of her accomplice.Personally if they are guilty they should... Yeah, just fill in the
They shoot a woman in the head and steal her car, and then seem surprised at the
charges? Nevada plays hardball with this kind of crime. Anyone who doubts that
statement should ask O.J. Simpson. He got up to a maximum of 33 years, and he
didn't even shoot anybody.
The grin on her face says it all.............
Her daughter had a rough start as a teenager. Still doesn't excuse the
behavior. Bad behavior has consequences and they are both eventually going to
be put away for decades if not found guilty and executed for their crimes.
Reality both in deep trouble. As she was engaged to a soldier why the heck did
she just stay home Dont make any sense!stay drug free
B Russ,Actually her parents are nice people. I know these people. I went
to school with Logan--he was a grade ahead of me in High School. He was always
doing dumb stuff like sluffing, but he was actually a nice kid. I didn't ever
think he would do something like this.
Her parents attempted to say that she had been doing good and this came out of
no where. But in her own picture that was released before the arrest, they have
an arrest photo from July of 2011. Her facial expression in that picture is the
same one that she was showing when they had her first mugshot. She is confident
she can get out of it.This couple is a real concern. People like
this really don't care who they hurt and when they get out again, they will
destroy lives to have a thrill. I think they need to be sentenced with first
degree and be permanently removed from our streets.
You have a choice in the things you may do. You don't however get to determine
the consequences.Throw the book @ both of them. I think you"ll
see plenty of times over the past week she could have "got away." I
mean, really? Try running into a Wendover Casino and start yelling "he's
got a gun" and see what happens. Oh she was too traumatized to think of
that so she shoots a lady in the head.Give me a break.
