Grade B grade C- grade C...I am betting it is safe to say there are no
scholarships awarded to the Jazz as they are currently playing.Sad
to say there was heightened anticipation by the time the season actually began.
The coaches or the team has done little to show us they deserve anything but
disdain. Our pg doesn't assist. Our team leaders Jefferson, Bell,
etc are anything but.The fans are the only constant, show up, pay
the money watch the game and gag down the food. Too bad the ticket price could
not reflect the level of play by the team.Estimated team salaries of
$10 mill per month and if the team did not hustle (they do not seem to like to
hustle so far) got out rebounded or shot a poor percentage (lets say less than
30%) then perhaps they could rebate the fans 50% back to the fans. Actually
Raja might make more as a fan if that program were instituted.Bottom
line is they are not entertaining, fans like to see hustle, they like to see
team work, they like to see millionaires doing what they get paid to do.
Wow! I wish I would have had you as a teacher in high school/college. You're
generous!Giving a B- to the guards (who were completely ineffective)
is beyond generous though. Bench Bell (or trade him) and go get Ronnie Price
back (16 points tonight for the Suns). Harris can't play defense to save his
life. Getting burned by Ty Lawson is somewhat understandable but D-Fish?
Really? Pathetic. As for the Coach and the C grade, I think given
that the season started the way it did (no Summer league, lock out, etc), you
might be right here. But if self preservation is an instinct Corbin has, he
better do something quickly.Bring back AK and Price and dump Bell.
Either that or start giving out paper bags at the doors.
Don't want to hustle pretty much sums it up. The jazz look very tentative (just
like last year) and don't seem to know where they should be on the floor. No one
is stepping up to lead. If they really do have youth and athleticism then
Corbin needs to tell them to beat the other team down the floor every play. I
will remain hopeful.
Against the Lakers I was upset. Now I'm just disgusted. We have no guard
talent. Harris and Watson are both just back-up type guards. Role players but
nothing more. CJ Miles is what he is. He will not get better. He will not get
more consistent, he will not have a break out season. Gordon Hayward has some
potential. He needs to quit with all the dribbling and one on one garbage
though. That one turnover last night was just plain embarrassing. The Jazz are
a team of role players without a super star. Until they learn to play as a team
and actually run some plays, they will continue to loose! I wish Coach Corbin
well but he is not Jerry Sloan. This team has no identity and no personality.
Greg Miller is not Larry. The Jazz we all knew and loved are gone.
Harris continues to unimpress, looks like he learned the ole' defense from
Boozer- why did the Jazz waste their time on him? I cannot figure why Bell is
playing at all- no offense nor defense just like last year. This big loaded
team will go nowhere until the guards learn how to pick up assists- the team is
mostly standing around, waiting for a chance to lob up a long ball instead of
pounding it inside as they should. The black hole around Jefferson does not
The report card over-values Al's points. Did you see how many points the Jazz
gave up in the paint? SERIOUSLY!? How can you give the center a B on a night
where the paint was open to anyone who wanted to come inside and get theirs! That was a big F performance from big Al, and the line of thinking that
says scoring and getting some rebounds equals good play is EXACTLY why the Jazz
are in the situation they are in playing perhaps the worst defensive player in
the NBA in the most crucial defensive position on the court. With no interior
defense the team is set to lose a record number of games.Big Al
needs to go, it doesn't matter if you get 20 and 10 if you give up 60 points in
the paint b/c you step out of the way every time someone goes inside!
these posts pretty well sum it all up....mass mediocraty. there will be no wins
this season with this low level of play. why not line up some games with some of
our local college teams....that would be more interesting. I feel sorry for a
couple of these rookies who have no team leadership...poor kids.
The author is liberal with the grades. The guards don't deserve anything more
than a D, and the coaching is easily a D or F. This is the worst NBA basketball
I've ever observed.
When you lose by 17 in the NBA that is an F in performance, period! These are
