Your kidding-water being released from Bear Lake? Why not wait until you see
this winters snowpack in a month or two before just releasing water? Where and
to whom is the water going? Down in So. Utah this spring water was being
released from the quail creek resevoir from march until I don't know when(I left
the area in latter May)and I mean 24/7 a full pipe into the Virgin river. No
irrigating was going on to speak of, so my guess it was for sin city and Lake
Mead. Right now that same resevoir is only at about 25% capacity. Where's the
water? A selling point for the Lake Powell pipe line I suppose. Crooked politics
never cease to amaze! Now tell us conservancy district that we are running out

Below average snowfall? Why is that? I thought 'man
cannot affect his/her enviorment?'
@Pagan: Come now. There are wet years and there are dry years. The climate goes
through natural cycles and we have very little evidence to suggest man is
effecting it at all.

@PaganI find that one of the things that causes people to think global
warming is false... is that some who think man-made climate change is occurring
overstate the effects and act as if every subtle nuance of every single weather
pattern, no matter what it is, was only that way because of the influence of
man. That just isn't the case. Global warming does not cause the split-flow
pattern in the jetstream we've had be the dominant pattern the past few weeks
which resulted in the lower snow totals as storms are pasisng north and south.

Last Christmas I went snow shoeing above Tibble Fork Res in American Fork
canyon. My guess is there was around 36" of snow at the base of the trail.
This year there is dirt. If we don't get several BIG storms soon that water
supply is going to be sucked dry in a hurry come spring and summer.
@Patriot: Who is to say we won't get some big storms in January, February or
March? It is logical to assume we are going to hit average snowfall numbers by
the time winter is over.. a dry November and December just mean more frequent
storms later. Even if we don't hit the number, who is to say spring won't be
unusually wet like it was last year? People get all wound up thinking it is the
end of the world over nothing. Nature has been doing its thing for millennia, no
reason to assume it will stop working now.
