Herbert the Amnesty Governor is finally getting called on his RINO policies!Go Philpot!
"Herbert would be a great governor in the 1990s, when times were good, but
'things have gone crazy.'" Makes sense then that we need a crazy man as
governor. I think Philpot fills that bill. It's all about defying the evil
federal government, isn't it? I'm sure it has nothing to do with seeking elected
office after losing the last election.
"...He stressed, though, he would not want the state to turn away all
federal funding. 'I'm not going to tackle every single issue that every single
person might believe is appropriate,' Philpot said, suggesting there might be
room for COMPROMISE(?) with the federal government on some issues, such as
Medicaid funding...".Republicans "compromise"?
The leadership we need all the time is someone who thinks and reasons before
they speak and needs common sense to help make judgements. Too many people have
made a lot of decisions based on wants and money in their pockets. Think of the
last 11 years and the efforts to outsource jobs and to let investors make fast
money with no regard for the economic wellbeing of our country. Then these
greedy leaders do just that and shortly there comes a big recesion for the
entire world and millions of people lose their jobs and many companies fail just
to satisfy a few greedy people. What a loss of character and integrity for
""...He stressed, though, he would not want the state to turn away all
federal funding."It's all about the pork with these big talking
Republican candidates but when the rubber meets the road they are big spenders.
You have got my vote. Herbert is Obama's friend along with Shurtleff. We have
had enough of handing over illegal immigrant workers to take our jobs.
I can't believe some people. As a state, Utah has done relatively we'll during
the recession largely because it has invested hand in hand with the federal
government on infrastructure like highways and mass transit. These are the
types of projects that enable businesses to choose Utah for growth. But if you in turn have a governor that appears to have gone rouge, the flow
of business dollars heading utah's way will dry up. Over the top claims are
great for rallying the base, but do little to encourage businesses to plan
growth in an unstable business environment. Utah has benefitted
largely from the positive flow of federal dollars. Don't be stupid and shoot
yourself in the foot just to win votes from those that will vote republican
"danaslc | 7:10 p.m. Dec. 1, 2011 Kearns, UTYou have got my
vote. Herbert is Obama's friend along with Shurtleff. We have had enough of
handing over illegal immigrant workers to take our jobs."You
mean the same President Obama that has deported more people in 3 years than Bush
did in 8?Philpot is just another big talking big spending Republican
that makes Herbert look downright decent.
"It doesn't all have to be confrontational politics." - PhilpotYet another Utah politician who does not listen to himself. Philpot is all
about confrontational politics at a time when we need less divisiveness and
rancor. And, who is he trying to kid by taking on a leading Utah Republican
after losing to a Democrat? That means people in his own party crossed the
aisle to vote for his opponent. When that happens in Utah youre toast.
I'm for change and this guy may do it, but I do have to declare that he should
stand up to more than the Feds. He must be willing to stand up against our
legislators, Hispanic activist, special intrrest groups, departments of Justice,
law enforcement, and other corruption in business and government with the same
fervor. We don't want a single minded governor with a single minded crusade. He needs a spine of justice, right and wrong, morals, and honesty.
Otherwise I may have to put my hat in the ring and declare that Utah is a member
of the Untied States of America, its constitutions, with uncompromising law and
order at the highest levels.
Philpot once again proves he is not fit for public office. Why am I not
surprised . . .
Why do I get the painful feeling when one of these guys stand up, that we will
lose our birthright to OUR public lands and they will be sold to the highest
bidder? My life is better because of puplic lands.
When someone announces that he is above the law or in other words becomes a law
unto himself, I'd say that's reason enough right there to question his ability
to uphold the law as the senion executive of the state.
I believe I'm a conservative Republican. I'm no RINO. But the kind of talk
already coming from Philpot is just irresponsible.I know there are a
lot of Republicans, especially delegates to the state convention, who love red
meat. But I pray they have the sense to know this guy would be a disaster as
The DesNews needs to assess its editorial policies and raise the bar on its
reporting responsibilities to the public. Here you have a candidate who says he
is willing to break the law. He is willing to put some vague and supposed
interests of the state ahead of federal law. He refuses to acknowledge the
Supremacy Clause of the Constitution. He refuses to acknowledge the legal and
Constitutional outcome of the Civil War, and he refuses to acknowledge the
hallowed words of Lincoln given at Gettysburg. He deliberately states he will
ignore the law of the land and act against the interests of the United States of
American because he doesn't think the law applies to him or that his views are
greater than the law of the land. What would you call this? Why don't you,
DesNews, call this for what it is? Why do you not step up and do your job as a
powerful voice in the state and oppose this kind of talk - unless you agree. If
you do, say it.
