Kim A. Nelson writes a timely and deeply satisfying article. His counsel gives
appropriate, yet soft endorsement of relying upon the Spirit of the Lord and the
power of the priesthood. Additionally, he soothes the aching heart with the
assurance that each of us can get through the storms of life, even if the storms
were caused by our own wrong choices. This message under girds the reality that
Jesus Christ expresses His tender mercies through the goodness of other. Thank

life, I confess to struggling with this well-intentioned advice, but the
far-reaching effects of my past sins on my family, my co-dependent inability to
allow others the grace of their own choices, topped with an ADHD brain that is
NEVER quiet (sigh) make success seem out of reach. Learning to love a life I do
not LIKE will be a challenge, but I'm sure Bro. Nelson would have some useful
advice. Being too far away to attend his next engagement will require my
reliance on my own wonderful Home Teacher. He will just "have to do"
(smile). The value of understanding the awesome power of the Atonement to heal
our sorrows, as well as our sins, is truly an incalculable blessing!
