Thank you for this message. The Holy Land, even in all its modernity, verifies,
validates, and testifies of the reality of Jesus Christ.
I would love to go to Israel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!To walk where Jesus had walked -
to see the places that HE loved. But, like so many who would love to go...
there just isn't the funds to do it!Wouldn't it be nice if we all had
enough money to be able to have our dream come true?
Amen to the comments of JKay ds. Too bad professional guides don't figure out
ways for people to earn their way to these sites, or find organizations which
can help people make the money or assist people to have chances to go to such
The Holy Land is indeed a most special little corner of the world and well worth
every effort to visit. The spirit of the Savior is strong almost every where
you may wander.Although I have been privileged to visit the Holy
Land on numerous occasions, as well as send several of my children to the
BYU-JC, I have never been able to utilize the services of some of the
aforementioned LDS tour guides. Although I have attempted to coordinate my
schedule for some of the BYU tour dates, it has never quite coincided. And the
cost of the local LDS guides has always been prohibitive, especially for a large
family. Our original quote for a week in the Holy Land would have cost our
family somewhere between $25K-$30K not including airfare-leaving it only for the
very wealthy. So, for our first and several subsequent visits, we
have simply rented a mini-van at Tel Aviv airport and driven ourselves from site
to site-often joining other small groups and an occasional dayguide along with
LDS commentaries to guide us.Did we miss something? Probably, but
still were privileged to bask in the spirit of Israel.
