BYU benches Jake Heaps! BYU not interested in joining the Big 12! This is one
fair weather fan of 25 years that is losing interest fast in the BYU football
program. Have fun watching Nelson throw for 75 yards and run for 200.
Brandon, I'm so glad you are in charge of putting this analysis together. I
look forward to your article each week. I think that score prediction is right
on. You've been very accurate predicting BYU's score the last two weeks...even
right on if I recall. This is for sure a defense BYU can exploit.
At the same time, SJSU has not seen a defense like this all year, with perhaps
the exception of Stanford. SJSU seems to be improving with a new coach, and may
not be the sinch win for USU this year. Really looking forward to
BYU's multi-headed running machine to come out this game.
We can always do what Texas has been doing this year with dual quarterback
system. They instead trading entire series will plug in the quarterback
depending on the play they want to run. This will keep the defense on their
heels and it's been working for Texas pretty well so far.
DN:Thank you for the comprehensive analysis.Prediction:BYU by 50.BYU 500 yards passing.BYU 200 yards rushing.Oh wait, that was before.New
prediction:BYU 28 SJS 24.BYU comes from behind to defeat
one of the worst football teams in America.Step 1, on the way to at
least an 8-4, or maybe 10-2 season.Has there ever been a team that
finished 10-2 after getting beat by their rivals, 54 to 10, at home, in front of
a national TV audience?
Hey, where is Chris B? I want to hear his prediction.I think they
should line Riley up as a running back. That way he can run the ball but could
also throw a few passes per game and really keep the defense guessing.
Let's see how can I put a different picture on WhatNow. Yes, the score was
54-10, but I can hardly say Utah beat BYU. BYU played so horribly bad that it
was more like BYU giving the game away with their mistakes and ineptness. I
would say Utah scored more because of the mistakes, but I would hardly say that
Utah beat BYU. It was however, still a loss, no matter how one looks at it or
however one ones to spin what happened. BYU beat themselves and continue to make
those terrible mistakes. They say they need to stop making those
mental errors, but they continue to do it and make games tight. So someone is
not learning from their mistakes. Perhaps they listened to too much season hype
and figured they could show up and win. They are showing up, but not playing
stellar football. Let's hope this is the game that turns the corner for them and
they start executing. Patriot, the name belies the meaning. A
patriot can see the problems, but still sticks by the team. You, however
clarify it with your use of you being a fair weather fan.
More shoulda ,coulda, woulda the Spartans are the team that can sneak up on you
ask CSU they discovered that. The schedule looks tuff all the way if
Heaps starts. He is the opponents equalizing ace in the hole.BYU
Should win. We will see is it Nelson or heaps ?
saint georgeyes.if you are a utah troll, you might worry about them.
you seem to be an obama groupee, change the focus on something else. can't wait
for u bball
WHAT NOW?Here's a prediction you can take to the bank. ASU
destroys the Utesies 55-3Absolutely no offense will be generated this
weekend. Hays will throw 4 INT's running game, ha please. The defense may
keep the Utesies in the game for a quarter or two but will wear down when the
offense goes three and out for the umpteenth time.Utesies fall off the PAC
map to 0-3 period.
Brandon, you, and all the other DesNews writers, have said the same thing every
week, i.e., "Look for this week to be the game where the offense breaks out
and gets the rushing/passing game on track." Why? What has changed? Until
Doman can put a gameplan together and can figure out how to call unpredictable
plays that allows the offense to get into a rhythm, then it doesn't matter who
starts at QB.Here is what you'll have:Heaps @ QB1
- Run up the middle, gain of 2-yards 2 - Pass in the flat to the RB,
incomplete, Heaps throws behind the receiver3 - 3rd and long, Heaps locks
onto Apo & either sails one over his head or the pass is complete for 7
yards (the WR ran the route 1-yard short.)Nelson @ QB1 - Run
up the middle out of the shotgun formation, gain of 2-yards - fools nobody.2 - QB draw, good for 4-5 yards (for the first two series of the game)3
- Throw to the sidelines, 50/50 chance of complete. Safe throw since Doman
doesn't trust Nelson to throw.C'mon, Doman, mix it & turn the
page in the playbook!
Could it be there is much parity of talent among college football teams nowdays,
and it is focus of doing all things well that make the difference. Turnovers
should be the treat of choice for all fans at these games.
The only good thing about this game is the start time of 8:15...at least the
traffic on I-15 will be light going home.
jarka-rus | 2:51 p.m. Oct. 7, 2011 Layton, Utah ...oh the pain
of the 54-10.
54-10 | 4:51 p.m. Oct. 7, 2011The utes can keep shouting that, but
it won't erase the Huskie Humiliation. So much for NC 2011 up north.
I love WAC football! Does it get any better? I'm so jazzed!!!!!
Patriot, if you're a fair weather fan, then we don't want you anyway. Goodbye.
It's Nelson to start! Let's hope he can keep the magic going.
mgr63 Didn't your team get demoralized by a WAC team last year? You really
should be worrying about the odds of your team winning only 2 more games this
season. The part that scares you even more is the fact that you have basketball
season coming up next, and your football team may win more conference games that
that team does.
54-10,Looks like the utes will be taking the beating. Where's Chris
