PG has had some of the top talent in the past 6 football seasons, arguably 2009
had more than anyone.Year after year the Vikings come up short and under
deliver.Players play the game but they perform on how they are lead. There have been whispers fora long time but the time has come to be vocal.Pleasant Grove needs an coach overhaul. The question is how deep?It
starts with the head coach, but will that be enough?PG clearly has a
division in the coaching ranks.
Last night showed how far the program has fallen. No one has confidence right
now. Coach Bayles runs the JV offense and we succeed nearly every week. Our
Varsity couldn't move the ball against the same JV Riverton team that played the
2nd half last night. Our JV team rolled over the same kids on Thursday. Our
Varsity players are clearly more talented than our JV kids. No question. The
problem is,there are massive divisions within the Varsity team that the coaches
need to addressed. Our JV kids are fired up, confident, and ready to play. The
varsity doesn't know who is going to play QB until game time and that shows no
leadership. This team needs stability and the boys are already whipped before
kickoff. The one constant is that every kid loves to play for Coach Boban. He
is a motivator and right now that is what we need. A TV game against Lone Peak
awaits on Thursday. If we play this way again we will lose by 100 pts.
I couldn't agree more with ohIknow.
Unreal,HA, Riverton gets beat 45-13 by Bingham, then they Demolish
PG at there place, and looked amazing, is PG that bad? Coaches do affect a lot,
but common PG never has been good in football, and your best year, you got
blasted by the big boys, so its a tough day in old news PG, because of Lone
Peak, and American Fork
The PG coaching staff has survived on talented players who were well coached by
their dads through their freshman years. It is interesting that the same players
that win and often go undefeated in the younger years are the same ones losing
now, oh except for the 10+ players who left the program or quit after the 2009
season. Class of 2009=undefeated as freshman, 2010=undefeated as freshman, 2011
and 2012 top 4. That's the first time I've heard Boban is a players coach.
