Lark should do the same. He's got all the tools and is a gamer, as Heaps is
not. Since shaking off the mission rust, he's never had a fair shot at BYU and
should take his talent elsewhere.
Man, I wonder what could have happened in those Crowton years had Mortensen been
given the chance to play? Maybe they would have been a lot better. Or, maybe
it really was the system, and he just didn't fit.As for Lark, I'd
hate to see him leave, but if he gets a guaranteed opportunity to play
elsewhere? Can't say that I would blame him. I don't know that he is the
better quarterback, but it wouldn't be the first time a guy sat when he didn't
deserve to. I'm thinking along the lines of some guy named Sanchez who maybe
should have been starting over some guy named Leinhart.
If Heaps doesn't break out today, Lark (not Nelson) should be given a shot. I
just don't think Nelson has it.
Thanks for the story about Pulsipher. I grew up a big Yale fan so it's great to
see an RM helping the Bulldogs.
James Lark has every physical, mental and athletic attribute to play at the next
level. How unfortunate that he may never get the opportunity to demonstrate
that fact at this current level, all due to hype and politics. Kudos to Mr.
Mortensen but James doesn't have the eligibility left to mess around with. I
hope, if he desires to do so, that he at least goes to a combine and shows what
he can do. If he needs financial backing to do it there are a lot of us who
would be willing to assist.
