Utah Utes football: Defensive big plays not quite enough

    I thought the defense was fine. Woods went off last week, but I thought the Utes held him in check. And the Utes had a +2 turnover margin---often enough to win games.

    Moreover, Coach Whit punted with 2 minutes left because he had confidence in his defense. I questioned it, but later saw why he gets paid to the big bucks---the Utes defense held them to a three-and-out and gave the offense one last chance.

    What I thought was the difference maker (aside from the blocked FG, of course), was the lack of a power running game. The Reggie Dunn reverse was nice, but Wynn faced too many 3rd and longs due to a lack of a power game. Personally, I thought USC was suseptible to the power game which was why I was surprised Langi didn't get more carries.
