I would argue Pastor Bess does not understand Mormon's if he thinks the
Tabernacle in Salt Lake City is a central, holy place. The main Holy Place in
Salt Lake City is the Salt Lake Temple. Temples are clearly the most holy and
sacred places to Mormons. In the last decade I would argue that the Conference
Center is a much more important sacred space than the Tabernacle has been, but
Temples are always the most holy of spaces.
It is the thought that counts, John Pack. It's nice that the pastor recognizes
the Tabernacle as a special place. I remember seeing it for the first time. It
did indeed seem holy to a young girl of 12. There was no Conference Center and
I was unable at that time to go to the temple.I'm just wondering how
the article went from "holy places" to first editions.
