The mismatch between education and employer needs is a pretty insightful comment. This is an ongoing problem with Utah's economy -- not enough experienced/skilled workers to drive next-generation technologies and businesses. This is one of the reasons the state can't attract the high-tech companies it wants without also importing talent.

With the state's continued neglect of higher education, Utah won't be able to fuel its economic aspirations. Utah's universities are already losing top talent as the legislature continues to cut funding and talks of abolishing tenure... University research and education are the economic engines of the state -- but our politicians are all too anxious to kill them off!
